Its sad that we have such great athletes that are hardly even known to the general public. These guys do a lot of hard training and I am proud of our American boys who usually dominate the world class. Armwrestling should be an Olympic sport for sure.

+Brent z It's not bad to know that country like Bulgaria,that is 90 times smaller than USA is much greater in armwrestling.Dominators in armwrestling are countries like Russia,Bulgaria,Georgia,Ukraine and others,but USA is not even close.You can check the results from World Wrestling Championships in the past few years. Last I check Breznk,chafee,Hutchings and a few others are doing good....they may not be at everyone all the time but neither do the armwrestlers from the countries you mentioned. It's also worth mentioning that many tournaments I have been to here in the U.S.A and Canada have had armwrestler from Eastern Europe and Russia lose pretty badly so sometimes travel can affect a armwrestler meaning a Ukrainian armwrestler will win tournaments in Ukraine but then lose when he travels to Canada.

As far as that some "armwrestlers from Eastern Europe and Russia lose pretty badly" I will tell you that I DID NOT said that ALL armwrestlers from Eastern Europe and Russia are better than the US ones,but THE BEST armwrestlers are from Eastern Europe and Russia. This video is very misleading as to who the greatest has been...An extreme lack of John Brzenk's monumental wins and also Devon Larratt. I do agree Alexey Voevoda is deserving but he was only the best for a very short period of time when John was under 200 lbs and with an elbow injury. No one compares to Brzenk- The greatest arm wrestler of all time!

He beat john one time. people forget that he was beat left and right handed by Travis Bagent, but i don't see anyone calling Bagent a legend. So true....Voevoda is one of my favorite arm wrestlers, but pulling John was filmed during what I would consider the worst point in John's career. He has been dominating EVERYONE for 30 years now, and everyone who knows anything about arm wrestling will agree with that. Ask Voevoda who the best of all time is and he will say John Brzenk. Ask Cyplenkov, Bagent, or any of the greats who the best of all time is and without any question they all say John Brzenk! Very frustrating that people fail to see this very obvious fact.

Super cool video, but arm wrestling isn't about power alone. When he lost to Alexey, he was under 200 pounds and contemplating retirement. Not only that, but he injured his arm in the previous round. Even so, he reversed Voevoda's hit on the first pull (before they slipped), and simply conceded in the second go round (as evidenced by John showing no sign of stress). Both men will tell you it's about technique. Power is important, but it's mostly about controlling the other guy's hand and wrist; isolating specific muscle groups to get the opponent out of position. That's why John has beaten Cyplenkov so many times when no one else can. That's why Larratt beats guys a lot stronger and heavier than he is. Technique > power in arm wrestling. Just like in boxing, MMA, and any combat sport.

People talk a lot about Michael, but he`s clearly strong as hell. He had to adjust his technique due to injuries, as he cant fully straighten or fully bend his arm, so his body has to be low to get his hand high, but he`s very strong there. Needs a lot of wrist and hand strength for this, and why complain if its allowed? If its allowed, that means its a legal move. It does not matter how ugly the move looks. You`d probably use it too, if you were about to lose, and knew that move would save you.....i would, and have done so, lol. But....have you also seen Michael`s press? One of the best in arm wrestling, easily top 3 in the press.

To be clear even controlling someone's hand or wrist ( sometimes you can't do both ) takes power not mention force-isolate someone's muscles into a position. Everyone says John brzenk was all about technique. He was and is much more than that. His technique and knowledge are just barely above his beastly power. Voevoda himself who displayed perfect condition and enormous power admitted into an interview right after the match that getting in hook with brzenk was the worse decision he could've made. Given John Brzenk's injury right before that match and another pretty serious one in the shoulder on the same arm i think a year before this tournament more than likely also still hindered him he was as powerful as one can come for his size,weight and height.

Glamox x i dont think he is best , in this sport is very difficult to say who is "the best" , he was long time ranked number 1 on left hand and i think 3 on right , he is considered to be the best left handed armwrestler ever , however he beats almost every "legendary" armwrestler also right handed ... if you want to know who is the best of all time then look for John Brzenk
