My God, what luxury. Nicest room I ever had was Ft Hood 3 persons our own bathroom. Also did WW2 36-man bay, wooden barracks. Hypocrisy of the Army, we could not cook in our rooms, this was before microwaves. but the orderly room had a coffee pot for their lifer juice. One of the guys in our unit got a telephone in his room, this was a major breakthrough.

We are out in the field for 45 days and come back and Top would have a wall locker inspection 2 days after getting back. That was what made me get out of the army.

When I was in the fanciest room we had was at Ft Hood, three to a room, separate bathroom three floors, looked like a condo. You should have tried WW2 wooden barracks w/ 32 people to a room, roll over in bed, see the ground through the crack in the floor. laying melted paste wax on the floor. Running a buffer over it, till you could read a paper by the reflection. The also would not let us cook in our rooms, even though if there was a fire, the waxed floor would burn and melt.
