My first duty station is here. Please give me advice. Little nervous
@joypressley48213 жыл бұрын
Heyy your going to love Korea! My best advice is to explore places like Seoul and Busan on the weekends (especially holiday weekends so you'll have more time). I also recommend trying out Korean BBQ at local restaurants near you. Try to visit different Palaces in Suwon if your into culture/history. I highly recommend exploring the cities with people who have been on the base for a while since they're more experienced with taking the trains. Don't go to places by yourself it's good to have someone with you

Don't be nervous you'll have a blast there, you just have to hang around the right people and explore what's around. ❤️I'm a 92A watch my Day In A Life Video it talks about what I do

Hey, they typically give everyone a wishlist of 3 duty stations you would like to go to but it's not always guaranteed that you'll get your first choice.

Just imagine another person of the same rank who is married gets a spacious apartment and better everything. Single military people always get the shaft.
@joypressley48212 жыл бұрын
Lol, not every barracks looks like this. I got lucky in Korea.
@kennixox2622 жыл бұрын
@@joypressley4821 So it would seem. There was a day not that long ago, two to a room, with a shared bathroom next door. One might be a smoker, one might be on another shift and still the same ranking person who is married gets a whole lot more. I was stationed at Osan a long time ago and had a room/kitchenette for myself and being single officer on an unaccompanied one year short tour it was tolerable. I guess they don't have house boys/women to clean your room and do your chores these days. Even the lowest enlisted ranks had that @ a mandatory cost each month. They did laundry, cleaned the bathroom/kitchen polished my boots, ironed my uniforms. This was at Osan, so I can't speak for how the Army did it back then. Living on base however, YUK! No privacy.

Hi! Very curious, is this for lower enlisted? I'm an E3 in AİT and I just found out I'm going here. Also, i heard we can't take our cars here, is that true?
@joypressley48213 жыл бұрын
The barracks are typically for people who aren't married. I've heard of people buying a car there but you need to speak to your Sgts when you arrive to Korea to get the exact details because that might not always be true. The people that I know who had their cars shipped to Korea were either married or had a high rank.

Could you do living quarters based on each rank? E-1-E-3 vs E-4-E-7?

That's a great video idea. Pretty much all the married people/the ones with kids live off post and everyone else lives in the barracks. Officers however live in separate homes.
