Accepted to play in this Army Field band in 1969, Family issues at Home kept me from reenlisting, a true regret I think about to this day. What a great Band.

Played Bari on this piece for district and state solo and ensemble. Honestly saxophone quartets are probably what I miss most about my tenure in band. Our BD required that the section do a quartet to challenge us

How does the Baritone Sax player make such a resonant and “bassy” tone? Super nice.

"Open-throat" and plenty of air support. Using high quality mouthpieces and gear can only change much, but when used with proper technique and rigorous practice :)

+The United States Army Field Band That is hands down the best classical mouthpiece for alto saxophone. I switched from the Rousseau when I was a sophomore in college.

@dougdehays52159 жыл бұрын
stefchoarsov Looks like a sax mute, usually doughnut shaped to make the horn play quieter and darker.
@ArmyFieldBand9 жыл бұрын
stefchoarsov It definitely is a saxophone mute as the person mentioned below.
