Thanks for the refresher both my parents are retired army, I just finished a HUGE trip visiting family & we have ended up with triple the clothes on our last stop in Washington state. I tried so hard to remember how we had to roll our clothes in our rooms ( mom & dad were strict but our house was always squared away and ready for anything). Your videos were the first thing to pop up! Thanks so much!! Now to teach my dc1 coastline husband the CORRECT way to roll clothes 😏

You're welcome. Thanks for your feedback! :) I probably should have made a video on packing bags, too lol. It surprises me how much stuff you can pack into a bag as long as you do it right. Thank you for this video. Believe it or not I was in the Army for 3 years (during VOLAR) and they never once taught us this technique. Of course I went through basic and they never taught us much about firing an M-16 either. I guess they figured there was no reason to teach a bunch of female soldiers anything like that. Why waste time and money right? I keep a bag packed for emergencies and knew rolling clothes was the way to go but I also knew my technique was off base. So thank you for sharing!

best advice ever... never ever ever go to sick call... unless you're dying; nope I take that back... still don't go to sick call. I endured my time in the army back in 2010@ Ft. Sill. OK. sick call is a trap. you're never too sick to train just suck it up. I'm almost 22 and though life might suck when you're going through training and all you'll miss it when you're out.
@armygringo10 жыл бұрын
Well, as they say, YMMV. I hated life for 14 weeks in Infantry basic, and looking back I do not miss it one bit, but I wish I'd gone to sick call when I should have, instead of sucking it up. Once you put in more time, all those injuries will come back to haunt you if you don't take care of them when you first get hurt. Just my two cents.
@felishaowens956010 жыл бұрын
armygringo I fractured through my hips and my pelvis, but the Captain at the TMC was a douche and told me I should take a generalized discharge over a medical and fed me a line of BS. :/ I want to go back in, but now I cant without a waiver that seems to be nonexistent . I feel like other than being a single mom the Army was the only thing I was good at and the only place people accepted me for me
@armygringo10 жыл бұрын
Well, keep trying. See if a different recruiter will be more willing to work with you, or wait another year or two until the Army needs to grow again. Healthcare in basic is definitely not what it should be. I've gotten a run around the couple times I went, and I've known people who were lied to and told they *had* to get their wisdom teeth pulled in order to graduate. What a crock of sh*t!

Ah no dad i dont i have OCD and shirts have to be with shirts, socks with all other socks and so on and so forth. Infact the towels have to be folded a certain way. Anyway thank you for serving and posting. I will try and learn military style

So the pockets hold the roll together. My dad taught me to do this....now that I remember, he also showed me a slick fast way to check the pant size..around the neck.....and all his clothes were always rolled like that. , and he only had...well you guessed it. Enough for the mission, as I call it. He never had much....but what he had got the job done and it was organized. I assumed he was in the military, from swiss.....area.

Gotcha... here's what I do: I pack an extra plastic bag (or a few bags) to put the dirty clothes away. If you plan on having a lot of sweaty/dirty clothes, you'll obviously need a big bag. If your luggage is crammed, I'd recommend either upgrading the luggage itself, or look for the things you could do without. That way, you'll have some spare room for soiled clothes. If neither of those is an option, then yes, roll up your dirty stuff. Just keep it in bags so it doesn't stink up a storm lol
