This choir of one thousand Rabindrasangeet singers was presented by Sangeet Bharati Muktadhara in 2007 at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata to commemorate seventy five years of the publication of the first edition of Rabindranath Tagore’s Gitabitan. The entire event was conceptualised and directed by me. The script along with the selection of the songs was also mine. After this event, Sangeet Bharati Muktadhara presented four more Thousand voices Rabindrasangeet choir events. Three of these events were presented at the Netaji Indoor Stadium; in 2011, to observe 150 years of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary, in 2015, to commemorate 100 years of Rabindranath Tagore’s English Gitanjali and his winning the Nobel prize and very recently in 2023, to commemorate 100 years of the foundation of Rabindranath Tagore’s Visva Bharati University. In 2016, Sangeet Bharati Muktadhara presented Rabindrasangeet in a thousand voices at the World Culture Festival in Delhi organised by Art of Living. 155 countries took part in this festival and our Rabindrasangeet event was telecast ‘live’ in 155 countries. I would like to state humbly that all these events were conceptualised, scripted and directed by me. I am rather astonished that whoever has uploaded this video in this You Tube channel has not mentioned my name anywhere.
