Dutch coaches know English mentality but with a bit smarter culture and man management (Jol for example) whereas the latinos ( Conte, AVB, Mourinho) are too emotional. Pep is an exception.

@Hysteria Jol did well with what he was given. The season he started at Spurs was the season the board finally started investing in the team, he finished 5th in his first full season as manager which was their highest finish in the league for a long time, since the premier league was formed.

@@totalhysteria considering what he had to work with he done wonders. If memory serves me, he was Jaques Santini’s assistant. When he quit after a few months Jol stepped in. We played some good football but 5th was the highest we got in the table. His sacking still don’t sit right with me… Levy is a piece of work.

The reasons why serial winners like Mourinho and Conte failed at Tottenham are still there. If Slot goes to Tottenham, the chances are he will not be a success. Slot is better off waiting for a mid-table EPL team to come calling next season.

He'll probably get like 5x the money at Spurs than what he's on now but yeah there needs to be a change of attitude from the Spurs board. If not the exact signings he wants then at least the type of players he wants, can't carry on like before signing players the head coach didn't want. Needs to be given time as well, if Spurs don't do that great for a couple of seasons just leave him to it, Man Utd were 16th I think it was about 3 seasons into Fergie's reign and were about to sack him but they won the FA Cup then the rest was history, if Levy can change that and allow a manager time he might be able to build something.
