Good day to you Si and thank you for another very good and positive analysis. You asked for our thoughts so here goes: We have 3 players on 2300mins or so: Mo, VVD and Ryan. Alexis has roughly 2000. Trent has 1900. We are over reliant on these players and we will need them to be firing on all cylinders come the business end of the season. We've seen our beloved team get to too many european finals either depleted personnel wise or with their legs having fallen off. My take is that, if you want to challenge for all 4 trophies, you need a strength in depth in order to rotate. If you don't have this then it makes sense (to me at least) to rest players in the lesser competitions. Slot said at the start of the season that he was happy with the squad, yet we haven't seen much squad rotation. During the summer, I felt that we needed another CB, DM/CM and RW, plus probably better options at LB and no9. I appreciate that's a lot, and I do get the "Slot needs to evaluate the squad" argument. Well, it seems that he has evaluated the squad and he feels that he can rely on 4 midfielders and 4 attackers. That's not enough if you want to challenge on ALL fronts. We may differ in how we saw the last 2 games, but to me the players looked leggy and possibly mentally fatigued. We couldn't string 3 passes together and gave the ball away far too much. So my points are that we needed to strengthen in the summer, and given that we didn't, we have to rest key players if we want to win the big trophies, and we're not doing that. I would have liked Endo and Quansah at CB, Morton in the middle, and when are we going to se Chiesa? I'm not convinced he was a good signing. I thought he would have taken more minutes off Salah by now - he looks knackered. I don't think we would have done any worse had we rested some of our key players. Over the last 3-4 seasons, we've gone hard in the domestic cups and narrowly missed out on the big trophies. We're seeing the same thing this season, which I think is a mistake. It's no coincidence that during Klopp's 1st 3 full seasons we posted the most points and won the CL, having played the kids in the cups. For sure I want us to win silverware, but I would much prefer to save legs for the major trophies. So right now, I'm unhappy at our lack of signings in the summer, and disappointed at the lack of squad rotation, as I can see it costing us in the months to come.

Yes, Endo is really good at turning over pressure and putting us on the front foot and I hope Slot realises his value in adding stability and a platform for the team to perform. This game could have been managed slightly better but ultimately, it usually ends in a draw and we got hit where it hurts with the foul and Tsimikas being off the pitch. YNWA

I like Kvara but he has issues with head down play and not seeing the early passes. Luis Diaz is a better version of Kvara and Gakpo is different. Unless Luis Diaz leaves or Slot think his future is as the 9, then I find it hard to see Kvara arriving. Agree that Slot really needs to use Harvey. We have not won in 2025 so we need to do better. Unfortunately Tyler Morton seems to have injured his ankle in training so may not be available for the next game. Some of our players do look tired and with no enough rotation players available, we have not been playing well enough. Slot needs to see that some signings are needed to pad up the squad. Hope this wobble goes away and we do better soon.

I think Tsimikas needs more games to get back to match fitness and Beck probably isn't of the required level tactically and in terms of technical ability. The closest youngsters to the first team are Ngumoha and Nyoni as well Kaide Gordon I think

Endo, Elliott, Chiesa, Quansah need to be played more. Given we are in 4 competitions, Makes no sense to run the likes of Van Dijk, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Gakpo and Diaz to the ground, clearly these guys are fatigued and their performances are starting to take a dip.

Seriously don’t understand why Elliot isn’t playing. Jones does very little and has the odd good game. When Slobazlai isn’t available endo should be playing. Should have been endo with grav and macallister further up. This was a poor setup and again poor subs. FA cup, salah, macallister, vvd and gravenberch should be given time off for the forest game. This is a crucial game and can swing both ways. Either a statement win and dampen the chasers or lose and a drop in confidence.

What did Arnold do? Had one shot, was still getting caught out of position, some bad passes but he wasn't the only one. Another poor performance, slow walking football. What happened to attacking, fast football?

I think the tempo is dictated by how the opponent sets up and unfortunately without Szoboszlai, our press looks quite ineffective and we lose the midfield battle which destroys our tempo. Hopefully Slot can get it right.
