Loved this podcast. The heart bauble means a lot to me. My dear best friend, Vivica, who sadly died aged 54 of pancreatic cancer six years ago, had a Swedish mother and a Danish father. She got me into Swedish cross stitch (like your tablecloth), making those heart paper baskets for the tree and making Swedish Peppakaka, from a very young age. They have been part of my Christmas ever since. Thank you, Arne and Carlos. I will definitely be making this ball. XXX

I am knitting Xmas Balls from your book for 55 balls. This project is to make 12 of the balls for my oldest daughter who ‘s Father comes from Austria and so she puts up a beautiful tree that resembles one that you would find in the mountains of Austrian. She has the 50 year old candle holders and candles that we would lite on the tree when she was young. So, I am excited that these balls will be very beautiful with the lovely candle holders and complete a family heirloom that her daughter will inherit. Thankfully I was introduced to your channel.. and it brings great inspiration to me.

We do say “Glædelig jul” in Denmark, but we say “God jul” just as much.🤓 In general, we say "Glædelig jul" when we greet others at the beginning of a christmas event and/or the christmas holiday. When we leave, we say "God jul". When we send Christmas greetings, we write "Glædelig jul og godt nytår" or "God jul og godt nytår". 🎄 Thank you for a wonderful programme. ❤️ December greetings from a Danish fan.

I love the paper tree! My mother-in-law's and her family are from Macao where they have a tradition of cutting paper decorations that you put in the center of the tables at a wedding -- with a little light inside! I learned to make them and made a few for a wedding a long time ago. The tree reminds me of that tradition and maybe I should teach someone about them before it gets "lost"! Thank you. :) And I agree -- Arne's hair looks fabulously shiny today -- I noticed right away!

I'm watching out of order - but loving it all. Kate from the last homely house sent me. I can't wait to try your method of knitting. I was taught to throw the yarn, once I learned crochet I mostly gave up knitting because I could crochet so much faster, My Aunt was from the Netherlands and she knitted everything. I never saw her watching Tv without her needles flashing away. I believe from what you have described she did the German way - very similar to you but finger up- still she flew through sweaters, socks even snowsuits for my children when they were toddlers. Unfortunately she was not the one who taught me to knit. I do remember her trying to change my method but I was young and not interested enough. Now I'm eager to re-learn . I bought your advent pattern today - I won't get to it before Christmas but I will work on it this winter, taking my time and watching your videos to perfect knitting the Norwegian way. Thank you so much!

The paper tree, astonishing. Knitted little birds and nests during the podcast, but I must go cut out a snowflake now. Inspirational as always, thank you both 💕
