i grew up listening mostly to the 90s rap and pop so i was pretty much ignorant of great bands before 1990. AP being found via youtube brought a lot of attention to him esp. by Pinoys. and thanks to youtube i guess i've learned to appreciate all sorts of music. SP really is the VOICE and AP is a great talent but still has a lot to prove to Journey fans so i wish him luck. :-)

good we're clear on that one and i like this discussion. as for solo work i loved perry's Foolish Heart. i grew up listening to it from time to time via the radio without knowing the singer's name until just recently. With great albums journey made years before i understand that type of nostalgia. Me i'm wishing for Aaliyah and TLC from the 90s so yeah it's great to remember the artists we love. Ciao!

I think i've read and seen so much on youtube about AP. what's a bit funny about the negative comments i've read regarding him and journey is that people are definitely watching. i think that no matter what they say (comparing him to SP, saying he's just a great cover band singer and imitator, etc) people will see that he's an amazing vocalist. I just hope for great songs in an upcoming album that will result from his teamup with journey.

He's 41? No way, he looks like he's only 20 something. Be still my beating heart! Great voice. To be honest, it scares me when I hear someone saying they're going to "sing" a JOURNEY song. You're setting yourself up for that inevitable comparison. This guy seems to be able to pull it off.

From what I've read ha, hindi masyado sikat ang band ni Arnel dahil walang masyadong exposure but he did stints in Hong Kong. Also, this band had an album also and most songs are Arnel's composition. Search him or Zoo Band in youtube and you will see some MTVs ng band.

I just saw the Journey Concert on DVD. The cd was sold out at our Walmart store in Chula Vista, San Diego County. I got this as a birthday gift and was bought from a Walmart store east of SD. Arnel is a lot better than Steve Perry, they do sound so alike, 'cept Arnel has a wider range and more throaty, more rock than Perry who sounded more ballady. Deen C sang a song and the crowed did not go agaga compared with Arnel,the crowd was so alive.He enlivened the concert w/constant moving and jumps.

You've got to be kidding! This is terrible. Sounds like a foreign guy singing Broken Wings. This guys got nothing on Perry or Augeri. What is Journey doing? Just saw them last week. The instrumentals were great as usual, but many people dreaded the vocals...seriously, I am not alone here.
