ARNi Drugs May Extend Life of Heart Failure Patients, Study Shows

Milton Packer, MD, is the principal investigator into studies about Angiotensin Receptor Neprilysin inhibitor (ARNi) category of drugs used with heart failure patients. The latest study shows that ARNI drugs can help extend life of heart failure patients up to 2 years. Dr. Packer is Distinguished Scholar in Cardiovascular Sciences, Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.

Been twice diagnosed with CHF but first time doctor called it pneumonia. Treated for that but also was told I had enlarged left ventricle. 2nd time was hospitalized for a couple weeks, all drugs changed from original treatment, enlarged ventricle disappeared??? To shorten my long saga , now on Entresto. Doctor said it will increase life 3-5 years but has no ideas when that is. I must add, over these 2 incidents I have never been referred to a cardiologist!

How does this compare to "Entresto"?

entresto is a scam, novartis is under US DOJ investigations for marketing and kick backs, the clinical trials have yet to prove that sacubitril does anything, entresto is just generic valsartan, it's a prime example of why drugs are so UNNECESSARILY expensive in the US.

@@itsjustvalsartan7844 I made an appointment with my cardiologist yesterday, and I will be telling him I want to switch back to Lisinopril or Valsartan. I'll also begin saving a bucket of $ since the Entresto has cost me thousands this past year. If he won't allow me to switch meds, I have 2 other Cardiologists I can get in to see within a month.

@@joshpembers search for the trial named.....A Randomized, Double-blind Controlled Study Comparing LCZ696 to Medical Therapy for Comorbidities in HFpEF Patients (PARALLAX) " Sure there's naturetic peptide outcome but everyone debates the value of that. look at the other outcomes...change from baseline in 6 minute walk distance, KCCQ negligible difference, NYHA functional class...little difference. Also take note that they confuse things by also including the ACEi in the "IMT" Something they know will be worse, why not just show it against valsartan...huh? adverse effects too, look at all cause mortality. why is this stuff even on the market? We are also working on Farxiga analysis among others.

@@joshpembers Losartan is one of the more popular ARBs and it didn't suffer from NDMA contamination. It's interesting that sandoz, the generic arm of Novartis, contracting discount mfg in china, let the contamination of valsartan slip by them. They've only had decades of experience with it.

take a look at recent clinical trials where they finally compared this stuff to just it's generic component valsartan......valsartan is better! this is ridiculous, why is it even on the market, it's all an exercise in deception, comparing ARB to ACEi...doctors have long known ARB is an alternative, there are 8 generic ARBs available. it's absolutely ridiculous.
