I've been using Arnold Renderer since before Autodesk owned it, back when it was still under Solid Angle. I thought to myself at the time of the acquisition of Arnold Renderer.... I hope the development doesn't get stuck. But I have to say, you guys are doing a good job. 🤗

This is amazing, please autodesk keep it up, such an amazing tool and package should be getting more attention within the new commers in the community. This kind of support really make the difference. After 12 years using Vray and 3dsmax, I am falling in love with Arnold and Maya. Is just so much organic looking and lifelike!!! I was missing that in the more CG sharp Vray look.

That's good. but as a tool maya can be more intuitive. one should be able to easily reach to the conclusion 'If I put this outcolor in the 'offset' field then it will give this effect' without going through docs and videos.

where do I put 'Ramp'? in 'Near Color'?

Please, could we get a 3ds Max equivalent of this tutorial? Or every single one on this channel, if possible? Sometimes, what I'm seeing in videos like this one doesn't translate 1:1, there are different steps required in 3ds Max.

Can this be used in 3ds Max as well? If so is there a tutorial?
@LeeGriggs Жыл бұрын
Yes, same shaders.

I think the naming is different in max, I’ve struggled with making the best use of Arnold shaders, they’re a bit confusing. Love to find a solid tutorial source.

@@vitalef I'm in the same boat. There are differences in naming conventions between 3dsMax and Maya, and it's not always obvious to me how to translate a shader so that it matches what we get in Maya tuts like this one.
