I love this video, I'm studying complementary therapies at college in Glasgow just now and I love the full body aromatherapy massage, even as a therapist treating the client is so relaxing ! Thanks for posting, just wanted to compare techniques and to see if I was doing this part of the routine correctly!

If you are creating your own blend then you can include oils such as eucalyptus and peppermint for their decongestant properties. Citrus oils are also effective for lymphatic cleansing. You'll know to do your consultation and ensure that the oils you choose work well with each other too :)

Take a look at our aromatherapy oils top, middle and base notes tutorials for more information. You can mix so many different blends for the face and body and rather than choosing oils for a body area, you would choose them based on the conditions that you want to treat. If you have allergies then you can research the hazards of each oil plus do a patch test 24-48 hours before using a blend to check for any reactions :)
@identityskinspa11984 жыл бұрын
What brand of pre mixed essential oils would you recommend?
@homespabeauty4 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a particular brand as I like trying new blends but massage balms are great & easy to use & transport. Songbird Naturals is always a good choice 👍🏻

So, I'm just starting out massage, and the face seems to be where I have the most troubles. I've been told that my pressure is weak when I'm working the face. Do you think it's just a person to person thing? Because I end up getting conflicting messages when doing face massage.
@homespabeauty10 жыл бұрын
It could be each individual's preferences as you'll find that each person has a different comfort level when it comes to massage pressures. The best thing that you could do is ask the person just at the beginning of the facial massage if they feel that your pressure is ok so that they can feed back to you before relaxing into the remainder of the treatment. You never want to have a pressure so firm that it simply feels uncomfortable to the client but, as you say, too light a pressure means that it can feel ticklish or even irritating. Keep asking for feedback at the end of each treatment and you'll soon work out if it's a client or therapist issue. Good luck and keen enjoying what you do! :)
@karmaofgood10 жыл бұрын
Thank you, with most areas, it seems like I got it down, and I can keep the pressure steady and understand by just the muscle's reaction how the client feels, but with the face, there's usually no muscle reaction, and the place I usually massage is dark so seeing facial reaction is tough.
@homespabeauty10 жыл бұрын
karmaofgood It is a difficult one, and varying muscles tone, skin elasticity and the underlying structures in the face makes this area very different to massage compared to other areas of the body. Keep practicing and even ask fellow colleagues or friends/family if you can do some extra practice on them with full and honest feedback, to work out if it's possibly just a confidence issue :)

Welcome! Ideally try to leave the oils to sink in to the face for at least an hour or two, but you can wash your face later in they day. The main aim is to let them absorb to work their magic :)

Don't like it. She seems to be reluctant to touch her client. I would have added her yo stop and left
@homespabeauty8 жыл бұрын
I can't understand your last sentence. What does 'added her yo stop and left' mean? Professional therapists learn to gauge quite quickly who's not enjoying a particular style of treatment technique and we can stop and adapt before you feel you need to say anything, so you don't need to worry about causing a scene. We wouldn't let it get to that stage if you were open to a respectful dialogue.
@GummybearOverLord8 жыл бұрын
Homespa Beauty I'm not sure but I think he may be saying he was going to subscribe to you (added you) but then he stopped and left. Oh well, his loss, you're a lovely masseuse.
