People saying he’s not the best: In the top U16 league as a double underaged D-man he’s scored 42 points in 30 games. The next most points scored in the league ever as a double underaged D-man is 7 points. Also pretty much holds all the records for Select-invitational scoring for underaged D-men. Last spring he scored 21 points in 8 games as an underager. The kids he’s playing in these clips are two years older and he’s toying with them. He is outscoring U16 national team forwards as a two year younger D-man. Come on now... If this is not the best 06’, please enlighten me, who is the best you can find?

I'm curious to see if he's going to play in Philly this year at the '05 WSI tourney. If the top '05 kids from Saskatchewan (Heidt and Yagr) and maybe Catton ('06) are they it would be good to see how they all match up. Aron is super talented with great wheels, stick and vision so it would be cool to what he does against Sasky boys who always finish their checks. Heidt and Yagr also play in the AAA Midget league in Sask (U18) which is by far the toughest AAA league in Canada.

Finished the Finnish u-20 season with 30 points in 35 games, most ever by u-16 defenseman. Patrik Laine scored 37 points in 40 games so his rate of scoring as a defenseman is very close to him, though Laine did score more goals. But just for perspective.

Amazing player but let's give him a few years to see how he develops. I'm more impressed with his puckhandling & vision/mental part of the game than his pure physical ability but he's 13, so who knows what he ends up becoming. Played against him a few times, im two years older then him and is a decent player.Its impossible as a forward to take the puck from him and his decence is great too.. Never won over aron and never will. I might have enough skills to play in liiga, if not maybe mester. We'll see i work hard as hell, but i dont have that talent aron has. I hope it goes well for him, been talking a few times before and after games. Always trying to do my best to tell him to continue work hard and so.

Looks EXACTLY like Rasmus Dahlin did at the same age against the same competition. The only thing i see lacking is that "fast-twitch" that creates explosion and speed. I'm not sure at what age that develops, but it's usually very early - even before puberty. Hopefully he gets that or all that talent might be wasted (in terms of NHL talent.)

What, he has incredible explosive speed and rapid acceleration. And in 13-14 Dahlin wasn't playing vs the same competition, Dahlin was playing in low-end Swedish leagues whereas Kiviharju played in Finland's top u-16 league.

@@dancarpentieri7762 Oh but he absolutely does. Maybe you haven't seen very many games of him, and Finland doesn't really play coast-to-coast hockey. But he does have quite incredible acceleration. If your main exposure to him is WSI or something it isn't a great indicator, he always coasts through those and doesn't even try to skate. In general he usually prefers a slower start through the defensive zone with the puck, but in many situations especially during rapid turnarounds and when he needs to make a defensive play such as stopping a breakaway there's some very significant acceleration displayed. I doubt it makes any highlight reels, though.
