I rarely ever comment on a KZbin video, but this is by far, some of the most spectacular footage of any sailing, even nature channel. Stellar cinematography, color grading, editing, storytelling, scoring, and just overall inspiration. As someone who will be making a similar trip, I am equal parts inspired and anxiously awaiting your next upload. Impressive, to say the least. I don’t understand how this caliber of visual storytelling is free - this is documentary filmmaking at its finest; capturing the world around us. Merci to you both for this.

Thank you for adding in those little details at the end of the videos. I plan to sail to Patagonia in the coming years myself and am in the middle of a refit of my own sailboat. Seeing the consumed diesel numbers has been very helpful in determining how much tankage to allocate for fuel.

Awesome, great to know that it was useful to you. Note that we may be a bit of an outlier regarding diesel consumption. Our small engine has a low fuel consumption (~1.5L/h) and most boats heading north don't have as much time as we do to tack against the wind, so they use the engine instead. Things are a bit easier if southbound, at least during this season. We'll be happy to answer your questions if you have any. And good luck with the refit!!

@@tupaia Thank you very much. Great info to keep in mind. When I do get there, I will have plenty of time to tack back and forth :D. Have you been able to use the Reflex stove while under sail, or is it mostly just used at anchor? I have heard people comment it does not run so well when sailing.

I dare say there was some celebrations 🍾🍻🎈at Puerto Williams on your return . I can’t wait to see the video . I was chuffed to receive your response for my comment . Thank you for taking the time . My ‘eye ‘ for your upgrades comes from a lifetime of amateur boatbuilding and more recently , the last two years preparing my 1984 S&S 39 for a prolonged getaway . I completely understand what is involved regarding time , effort and money. So many viewers will only see your spectacular footage and rightfully comment on its superb quality and presentation. … Not many comment on the ‘elephant in the room ‘which is the fact that over the years you have upgraded , shaken down, prepared yourselves and then sailed to these remote places two up before your camera gear is unpacked … it’s impressive to say the least .
