Its was possible to do this back in the 90s too. I did it twice however I used BART, Caltrain and Amtrak. BART from where I live in the east bay to SF. Caltrain to SJ and Amtrak (as it was then) Amtrak California now to Richmond and back on BART home.

True. You can still do it via BART, then Capitol Corridor, and then Caltrain from Diridon. I wonder if that would be slightly faster than using the VTA light rail. That being said, the CC only does a few runs per day to Diridon. The VTA light rail connection runs every 15 minutes. So this new version is a lot more useful from a rider perspective.

Hi JG-77....very strange but that is Sunnyvale for you...The city prefers more poles to support the overhead contact system with a single wire.

Can't wait for Caltrain electrification! The naysayers swear there'll be 20 trains per hour at peak times...

Never heard about that Sunnyvale catenary thing, how bizarre! I would have thought the larger standard catenary ire setup to be preferable to the increased number of poles needed for the single wire variant.

😎🤓🇮🇱🇮🇱🇺🇸🏴🏳️✝️🦃🥩🍉🍫 I was on the Bart Riding into SFO with my sister, Anna back in 2009. It was nice! I had a lot of luggage and we had brown bagged lunches with us to take to the plane. It was funny because I kept fumbling with my luggage. Went back into Cali 2013, but didn’t get to ride the Bart. Was stuck at my auntie’ place in San Leandro. If I’m back in Cali for a visit again, I’m going to hide. I do the exact same thing riding the L trains in Chicago too. If the economy in Cali goes to hell where it can’t grow, blame the 🔥. Everybody got to see Tent City where everybody went homeless. Did the country die because of a vibrator? 😂

Despite all the gentrification of redwood city in the last few years, the train station still appears to be the place to buy crack :) good to see things haven't changed that much.Thank you for this. Brings back memories of being a vehicle-less teen wandering around the bay area.

So you know that there is a drug problem in your community. You complain about it on the internet, but you're unwilling to complain to your elected officials who are the only ones with any power to fix it. And you're surprised that there is problem? Cool logic you got there.

Wow those BART trains look incredibly slow moving under San Francisco
@Absolute_Zero73 жыл бұрын
Not sure how true that is. the camera is zoomed in quite a bit, so the perspective is quite warped. Its almost certainly moving a lot faster than it seems.

They do, but they're normally like 70mph
