Eddy, I loved your opening. You always make me smile. Being old (I’m 77) is just a number. Your Adventures and insights are priceless. Always know that there are a lot of people out in this wide world who really appreciate you, no matter that sometimes you get “on the wrong side of the glen! Lynn in Naples FL.

Brilliant in 4k Ed. I watch all your videos so 4k is definitely the way forward. Congrats on reaching the official retirement age, I'll be joining you in just a few months. Had a very short break in Stirling recently and enjoyed seeing my old County of Clackmannanshire. You seem to have had much better weather than I. Thanks Ed, looking forward to the next video.

Many thanks. This retirement malarkey's a period of great reflection that requires many pints of good ale to figure it all out. Take care.

Another great video eddy! Sorry i havent commented before now but ive not been well. Enjoy your retirement- youve earned it! I have another 15 years to go!

Many thanks. No need to apologise about the comments thing. I sometimes liken KZbin video comments to the Visitor Book in a museum where most folk write, 'Very good.' Hope you're getting better health-wise.

Nice one fella. Thank you for the 4k effort. Good move. We love your content. We consume all our KZbin on a 65" 4K TV. So content filmed in 4K makes all the difrence. We're normally sticklers for 60fps too, but we watch a lot of fast action stuff like mountain biking, martial arts and racing drones etc. But I don't think you need to go to that extent. 4K files are troublesome enough without doubling their weight 😉 Thank you again, and congratulations, enjoy your retirement 😁 Kenny & Becky fae Fawkirk 🏴

Many thanks. Took a while to pick a 4K camera that wasn't too expensive. Sony FDR AX53 - but it only shoots 4K at 25fps. It's not perfect, but I suppose it'll do for now. All the best.

Hi Eddy, congratulations on reaching the official retirement age, I am two years behind you. Lovely and enjoyable video, and there’s no doubt about it, the clarity and definition is of a higher quality. Your channel deserves so many more subscribers and I am convinced that will happen. We all look forward to the forthcoming videos, take care and all the best, regards Rob.

Hi Eddy, I'm also a new arrival at retirement age. It means there's plenty of time for hobbies. Work is the curse of the drinking classes anyway. I'm very interested in this walk, as I've not walked in that area before. I've walked the Ochils around the Glen Devon reservoirs, Dollar, Dunning and Yetts O'Muckart. I was dragged up in Langside and enjoyed your documentary of the battle. I can remember its 400th anniversary. Subscribed and look forward to your next video.

Eddy, it was great to meet you in person at the start of your walk. I hope we didn’t send you off on the wrong track! We turned of at the same place as you and went beyond your lunch stop up to the ruined steading that you mentioned, Jerah. We then decided to return to Blairlogie via Menstrie by going back down the track that you had intended to use in the first place, so we never made it around Dumyat. The camera is giving a much better, sharper image so that is welcome. There does seem to be a tendency to clip highlights, such as when the sun is on your face when sitting on the bench at the beginning, but otherwise an improvement. Keep up the videos, I always enjoy them immensely, and do relish your retirement. ps I like the use of ravinous to describe a ravine (as opposed to ravenous).
@EdExploresScotland3 жыл бұрын
Hallo Byron. Nice to have met you. The way I went was my intended route, and it was only during the walk that I suddenly realised that my intended route should have been on the other side of Menstrie Glen. But after some confusion I sort of got there in the end. I'm very pleased with how the footage looks on the telly, but you're absolutely right about the white over-exposed bits of my face at the start. Ideally, I should have been positioned a different way, but of the few benches at this spot there wasn't one facing the way I wanted. I think dealing with extremes of light and dark in a shot may always present difficulties. Take care, and happy adventuring.

Ed, how about a video about the attempted visit and capture of Rudolf Hess? One of the most incredible events of WW2 that happened right on the outskirts of Glasgow (Floors Farm)

The picture quality is great Ed. Your fairly racking up the subscribers by the way, you need to encourage your viewership to share your videos to others who might be interested and haven't found out about your work yet. You should start an Instagram profile for promotion purposes Ed. By the way a question? You mention entering the world of retirement? Whats was it you done as during your working life ??
@EdExploresScotland3 жыл бұрын
Many thanks. It'll take a while to get used to this camera, but it's definitely an improvement. Unfortunately I never had what you might term a career during my 'working life', and seemed to spend way too long trying to be rich and famous and failing miserably. I suppose you could say I was a professional dreamer. Take care.
