I went from London to south Spain on a YBR125 (and back to London again) and it was so so crazy that I would've been crazy not to do a bike trip like that, because it was one of the best experiences of my life. To all 125cc riders... you set your limits. Our great little runners have no limits if you treat them with care. They can just eat up hundreds of miles.

Now that's some proper touring! 600 miles a day is about my limit, and I wouldn't want to do that distance more than a couple of days in a row. Just watching this made my knees sore. The advice about pulling over for a nap is solid. I once pulled over on the Isle of Skye and took a 15 minute nap on a nice cushy bog. The sun even came out. It was glorious.

Kudos Bruce. I once did a 310 mile round trip in a day, Glos area to Plymouth and back on a suzuki 125 in the 1980’s. It did it and without complaint but my rear end was like a raw Aberdeen Angus steak at the end and lack of grunt on anything steeper than a billiard table made it hard work. Overtakes were either non existent or dodgy at best. Not quite enough power for overtaking anything over 40 mph really. Never again!

Did you bring a blanket or spare gloves in the panniers? I once bought a pair of very large black rubber gloves, like the ones for washing up the dishes, but they're big enough to go over motorcycle gloves. A motorbike shop was selling them, a long time ago. I like the idea of a 125 with panniers. Thanks for introducing us to Sinnis.

It's a shame we don't know of these daft ideas before you head off. My brother lives in Culloden, and I'm 100% certain he'd have put you up for the night. Next time, maybe. 😎

Thanks bud but there was no time to stop anywhere, I literally grabbed 10mins power kips on the ground whenever I could 👍

Think it was Nick Sanders who said he'd just pull over, sleep laid over his tank bag, wake up then carry on. :)

0:34 - Absolutely boils my piss that. In fact, if fuel permits, I've started saying no, and simply riding on to the next station in the hope there's less wankery

I noticed that during the covid party , nobody asked me to take it off. Then a month ago l was in the co op waiting to pay( so l hadn’t run off) and they asked me to take the lid off...

My first bike :) It got me started and couldn't fault it. This actually brought back memories... I now remember the overtaking planning and the slow grind of a long, slow hill where the power slowly ebbed away. Also the sore arse... and I also used to scoot up onto the pillion just for a break! Did a few journeys from midlands to cornwall and back with no problem. Now ride a RE Himi and continue to do the same though it's a little more competent

Good to see you back on a bike doing reviews. It was your original Terrain review that inspired me to buy one, before I passed my test. It was an epic machine. Keep the bike reviews coming. You are the best bike reviewer out there.

is it actually legal to have visors tinted that dark? really want one but heard anything over 50% is illegal! Where'd you get it? 😬
@teapotone
@teapotone 2 жыл бұрын
No that isn’t a road legal visor, but I’ve never met a copper who cares to be honest - except one fat waster in wales who was too lazy to do anything about it anyway 🤷‍♂️ I’ve worn them for 14yrs and never had a single issue. I get mine from ‘Helmet City’👍

I took a 125 Varadero from South Yorkshire to Edinburgh and onto the Shetland Isles. They are a lot of fun! Sometimes I miss the 125 but the 650 VStrom I upgraded to certainly fixed that 🤣🤣
