Was thinking while watching this what's the point putting yourself through that but I suppose it's like any other endurance challenge. You give yourself a target and finish and that's it. I might try something similar here in Ireland. Great video's 🤟

Cheers Chris. It always amuses me when I do these type of rides and get people commenting the same old stuff - Why? What’s the point? Etc etc etc As you rightly say it’s just a challenge I set myself, because most people won’t, or can’t do these type of rides. I can, and I like to push myself in them each time to try something different in my riding and life. I’m chuffed you get it bud, and even more chuffed that you sound like you’re going to give a challenge a go yourself. Whatever it is, go for it and see it through bud 👏👍

Its also proof at 17 when you pass your cbt that the country is there, you have the freedom to go explore it and not stay inside the bubble you know. My family at the time lived near Falkirk, we had the camper van ready to go to the western isles and i said i wanted to take my 125cc motorbike and ride it there, so they booked a spot on the ferry and my step dad said not to worry if something goes wrong, we will be behind you as he use to ride bikes when younger. It was great, i did forget to fill up at Tyndrum so in the middle of Glen Coe I had to flag them down to fill the tank but i loved it. The video shows a 125 can go anywhere just a bit slower than a mid range or 1000cc plus bike lol

I'm really proud of that little 125. I mean, less than £3k for all that bike, and the fun and adventure. Well done Sinnis Motorcycles. And well done Bruce! Epic effort. I just popped into the garage and took another look at my T125, with a renewed appreciation. "Well done," I said. "Well done."

Hi TeapotOne.. Classic videos really enjoyed them... Last year at the start of the covid I bought myself a Sym NHT 125 to get to work and back. Earlier this year I decided to take a adventure on it, I bought some cheap throwovers and stuffer bag, small tent and sleeping bag. I went from West Yorkshire up to Northern Scotland on the A & B roads as I have not yet passed my test, I first headed to Arran, Oban, Via Fort William to the Isle of Skye then followed the coast up to Durness, including the infamos pass over to Applecross then back home Via Inverness, Edingburgh, Northumberland and the Yorkshire Dales. Just over 1300 miles in total. Had a craking time even the weather was good. I did it over 10 days. Most people thought I was some kind of nutter for doing a trip like this on a 125. Like you I am just under 6 feet tall and 19 stones, I am already planning my 2022 adventure, with a friend this time round. Hopefully I will have passed my test by then. If not I might give the Sinnus Terrain a go..

As a small capacity rider myself ( Vespa 300) l really appreciated this set of videos. I had big bikes for years and occasionally miss the sheer power but it’s amazing what you can do very cheaply and l will say, with more sense of fulfillment, on a smaller machine. Recognised the Inverness road immediately! Superb effort sir! 👍

The plucky Sinnis was amazing. So many miles ridden with its throttle against the stop carrying a mature adult rider for 24 hours per day yet it did not bat an eyelid. I am seriously impressed. That has to be some sort of record for a "mere" 125cc.

Well, I rather enjoyed this. After looking at many 125's myself ( having only big bikes for 15 Years) I ended up with the Zontes G1 125 Scrambler, and put the SR38 Shad cafe racer saddle bags on it, absolutely love it!! Sure the power is not like my Ducati 906 Paso but at least this time around I can actually see the scenery and wonderful places... before I went too fast to see anything! Taking it easy and enjoying a ride is really what it's all about... Plenty of adventures up ahead riding my 125cc G1 Scrambler!!! I've only just reached the 1.000 kilometers mark and just got the 1st. Service done ✅. Now I can do a nice longish trip👍 A bit shorter than your marathon though, I would be completely broken after what you just did!!! Thx for sharing 👍

Congratulations! I have the 2018 model and this Saturday did 800km in 13 hrs from Brittany to Toulouse. My first proper long distance run. Found it surprisingly comfortable and I agree that the fuel gauge is very inaccurate, but at least in the right direction. I am still getting to know the bike, but I start looking for petrol when i hit 300km. That means refilling with about 10 lt of petrol. never had a chance to run the tank dry, so I don’t know if it really fits 14 litres. I am only 5’6 and the screen throws the wind right onto my helmet. Add to that the turbulence of lorries you don’t have the speed to overtake and you end up with serious buffeting and noise. Bought and aftermarket extension, plugs and a neck tube and it is now more manageable. This is only my second bike so I don’t have a good comparison point, but i found it spacious, not bad on the vibration, good gear ratios and nimble in tight traffic. I bought mine used for 1700 euros and 5000 and it was a steal. I just love it. Because of the speed i wouldn’t recommend it if you want to gain on distance, but if time is not an issue and you want to take it easy, then this is a cheap and cheerful way to do it

Well done Bruce, proving that anything is possible even on a small bike. Now you need to do it on the Honda Cub!

Maaaan you're crazy for taking this on, strong will that's for sure. I less than a week ago did London to Berwick Upon Tweed on a big bike and was kinda smug about it lol.

I've honestly got no idea how you managed to do that in such a short space of time... I rode from Manchester to Monmouth last weekend, and I was knackered after 150 miles of A & B roads!

Ha Ha thanks folks - it’s just what you’re used to. I’ve always done big miles and spent long times on the bike, plus I’m a very stubborn person so when I set my mind on something, I make it happen, no matter how uncomfortable 😬🤦‍♂️🤣👍

Back when I was a teenager, we were able to ride up to 250's on a provisional licence & the roads weren't anywhere near traffic levels today (& we faced a 2+ hour journey to reach the M6)we (myself & umpteen mates)would happily bugger-off to places we'd never been (Keswick for a coffee, Blackpool for food, decide where to next, etc etc)& even further back, family holidays abroad where mum/dad would sleep in the front, us 3 kids had sleeping bags spread out in the back as rear seat folded to provide whole estate car rear was our bed & a DIY baggage trailer my dad built carried our camping gear & on several holidays us 3 kids would use the picnic tables as our sleeping platform & my brother sleeping right through some Germans placing maps spread across the table he was sleeping on. :D I also once did the 40 ish miles from here to Carlisle on a 50cc moped(carried a sticker on headstock stating "MAX DESIGN SPEED 35 MPH)& home, that journey I'd done on many bigger capacity bikes in under an hour ended up taking an entire day & even with the ciggy-breaks deleted from the time taken still equated many hours of being overtaken by everything else on the road(often with getting nearside mirrors thwacking along the highest points on my bike's offside)& scared the pants off me. Although the volume of modern traffic is way greater today, drivers are tending to err more on the ""than "" where "wanker=penis length" although whatever mode of transport you use primarily has just such wankers within them.

I felt like that riding back from Corfu several years ago. France just kept throwing more tarmac at me. Then the ferry wasn't running, so I didn't get a nice rest on the boat. Had to take the tin worm under the briney. That last bit from the south coast to east Anglia felt so strange. I was halfway home when it dawned on me that I was riding back on the left hand side of the road after a month of continental travel. But I was so tired. I'll do it again one day. Maybe when I sell up in Corfu. Although the UK looks less and less hospitable every day. Cheers.

I did a 750 mile ride in a day on a 125 once. Even did the sleeping anywhere with my lid on. At one point plod woke me up to check I hadn't somehow fallen off and left the bike stood on its stand. One sleep was very cold so I curled up to the hit engine. To be fair I was 18 back then though!

I like the grinding Bruce (if on the right bike). You should take a look at the Iron Butt scatter rallies - they are varying lengths (from 8hours upwards). It’s a different kind of challenge to the endurance rides - much more thinking/re-assessing routes as you ride whilst visiting some interesting places.

That was an amazing ride you did there! I'm guessing you must be an ex special forces military person? The fact you completed this gruelling trip in just 3 days with a positive and amusing outlook is incredible! I noticed you had some sort of material protecting the USB plug going into the bikes binnacle, it looked a bit like bluetack, was it? Great idea to waterproof the connection. Thanks for posting.

Hi Barry, that was just some mouldable earplug putty, I use the same stuff to waterproof the mic connections on my GoPro’s 👍
