Around the World in 50 Plants | Laurence King Publishing 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle Time Lapse

Thanks for joining me for another jigsaw puzzle time lapse. Today's puzzle is Around the World in 50 Plants by the Laurence King Publishing company which features the incredible artwork of Lucille Clerc.
The first time I saw this puzzle was on the Anthropologie website and it immediately caught my eye. I am such a sucker for a floral image and this puzzle is covered in them. I loved all the style of artwork. The funny thing is that the Anthro website only showed an image of the front of the box, which as you'll see in the first few seconds of the video has a giant white spot where they included the title of the puzzle. It's a gorgeous box design really but it left me wondering what the puzzle actually looked like. Thankfully, other websites had the full image and eventually, I was able to see the whole thing and the other month I finally purchased my own copy.
This was my first Laurence King Publishing puzzle. Overall, I was generally happy with the puzzle quality but there are a few things that I think could have been improved. To start, the pieces are very thin. This isn't something I mind too much but it made the pieces really challenging to pick up. The piece shape was a traditional ribbon cut with just two inner prongs and two outer prongs. This worked just fine for this artwork and I didn't have much trouble not having a different cut to help identify where pieces went but the fit was really loose and that was an issue. Moving sections around was pretty much impossible and as the pieces clung to the table I couldn't even get my trusty trick of using a piece of card stock to move them around.
Even with all the above, those quality issues were not a deal breaker for me. I just adapted how I worked and tried to make sure that if I built an element I moved the pieces to approximately where it should end up and not outside of the edges where I usually build. The artwork was stunning and I loved the delicate and detailed elements that Lucille included. The finish on the puzzle was nice and the colors were all very vivid.
I managed to track down the Hercule Poirot puzzle that Laurence King also makes and I'm hoping they might have used a different manufacturer for that (although I think that's probably unlikely). Still, I look forward to assembling that one shortly.

I am new to your channel and was wondering: are there 2 of you doing the puzzle or do you just move around the table? If there are 2 how does the person at the top get to pieces of the person at the bottom or does the top person have their own stash of pieces?? I am curious about this as if you are a duo you work well together. I always solo but have a friend that wants to do a puzzle together and watching this makes me think that may not be as impossible as I think...

Most of the time it's just me on the videos but my husband will join me occasionally. That Liberty Puzzle was the first one where he joined me for the entire thing. Normally he just cameos.😂 He likes to puzzle too so it's always tempting him when he's on a break at work (he works from home). I have a big desk that is not pushed against a wall so he'll sit on one side and I sit on the other. If he's not there, I take the opportunity to switch sides to work on the top more easily. I really love doing puzzles with him as it's one of the things we bonded over when we first started dating. I'd try it out with your friend. I love the companionship of having someone with me when I'm doing it. Maybe start out with a small one in case you find you don't like puzzling with someone?
