Oh that’s fantastic to hear! It’s always nice when new places open up and do good food. Hopefully it gets a little more attention as time goes on and people become familiar with it.

Haha. I'm getting there. Just experimenting a bit at the moment. Will probably go back to those flat top down maps for the next series of videos before experimenting again with a few other options. Some of the maps I've created have looked good, but I haven't put them in the final edit because I'm not sure how useful they are.

Thanks for the review on that restaurant. Looks great! Could you at some point do a foodie vlog on the beach food sellers like the lumpia ladies. I’d loved to know what they sell and how to eat and ask for it.
@SanurDiaries Жыл бұрын
Wow. Incredible timing! I’ve just been down to the beach to try some snacks and I did indeed try the lumpia! I filmed it and I hope I’ve done it justice. I’ve got to edit the footage and make it into a proper video, so it might take a week. Keep your eyes peeled!
@suetwyford121611 ай бұрын
Awesome! Husband and I saw them all the time but weren’t sure what they were and what we should ask for.
@SanurDiaries11 ай бұрын
So the video I made is about 5 different snacks I tried in one session along the beach. One of them was the lumpia. I just rewatched the actual part I filmed there & I don’t think I explained what to ask for! What I got was a campur (mixed). If you ask for campur, you’ll get lumpia plus all the other fried bits she sells such as tempe, tofu & oteh-oteh. None of it is meat. It’s topped with peanut sauce. Can’t go wrong!

Thanks for the kind words! Trying my best just to show what I find around Sanur. I didn’t really intend to be talking so much about food when I started, but here we are 🤣. I had intended to show people things like how much it costs to rent a house like the one I’m renting etc, but I haven’t gotten around to that yet and I don’t even know if anyone would care! Let’s see where the vlog takes us. Probably will simply follow my moods, what I’m up to, whether I’m exploring new foods or places…

Looks great !!..I know the location and will definitely drop past ..Can I recommend a restaurant that I ate dinner in every night of my Sanur vacation.. Hanoi MeVui on Jl.Cemara No.33 ( just before The Prama ) The menu is amazing.

I know the place! I have visited before and really love it as well. I just haven’t been able to get in there and film a video yet… if a place is really busy and I can’t find a corner where I won’t disturb the other customers, I won’t film. I think MeVui is going to require me going in there at an odd time like 11am or 4pm so I can film without annoying other people. Thanks for the suggestion! It’s on my list! Any other suggestions?

hey Adam - out of curiosity. How long does it take you to put one of these videos together ( excluding the restaurant time when eating and filming )
@SanurDiaries11 ай бұрын
It depends. It’s not really a linear process for me. I have made videos in the past and I knew what I didn’t want from this channel when I started it. I don’t want to make fiddly videos that take ages to make because I simply lose interest. That’s why a lot of my videos are quite short. If I put my head down and bring footage home and edit it straight away (which is rare 😇), I can finish it in a couple of hours. I always hope that the audio is clear and at the right volume so I don’t have to adjust it too much, I always hope that I haven’t stumbled over my words too much so I have to choose sections… and then there’s the zoomed in shots which I stabilise, crop, edit down… sift through if it’s hopeless. Then I add titles (even converting to other currencies takes time), find music, adjust volume etc… Once the video is done, I export and watch it through in full and look for errors. After that, I upload it which takes over an hour on my slow connection. I generally have problems coming up with good titles and descriptions, so sometimes the video sits on KZbin untitled while I edit my next video. I also take a bit of time with thumbnails and I do want to get better at those because they are one of the most important parts of anything you upload to KZbin. Rubbish thumbnails don’t get clicked which means all the work you put into your video doesn’t even get viewed. So yeah, minimum 2 hours, usually a lot more and I do have a lot of footage from different places on the go at once. I could do it so much quicker if I just whipped out my GoPro and did very little editing… but I want to be better than that too.

@user-ss5dx4xf8q always gotta strive to get better as well. That’s the hard part. Getting better sometimes means putting more work into it… how much do you commit to something that’s just a hobby?
