I don't know why but I'm actually crying over this. This is amazing. These people deserve to be a part of society and this gives them the chance they need. Please keep working on this and bring it to America! I will only go eat here if you do!

I'm right there with you! I hope this becomes a global thing. So many people out there with disabilities need something like this. If they bring this to America, I would love to go to a cafe like this very often to catch up with the servers. Praying that will become a reality! Kudos to Japan for such an awesome effort on this.

Such a good concept, I'm glad it's actually in practice. Thanks for showing us this cafe!

This is really interesting... It's giving many new opportunities to people who had them taken away from them! Now this is what I call a good and healthier use of technology.

i love the idea and i feel it's very nice for the workers who are unable to walk because of their disabilities to be able to talk and work like this

3:40 Now, that one is interesting. It’s a person, controlling a robot, piloting a coffee-brewing mech suit.

As someone with 10 years of experience on robotics (but still never made a human operated robot, no joke), is quite painful to see people operating the robot, we already have AI good enough to make all of that 100% automated.
@hushedmirth2 жыл бұрын
true that it can all be automated but i think it's a nice job for the human operators! i originally looked for a video on this café because i heard that the robots were piloted by people with paralysis or can't leave their homes for one reason or another. it's a neat way to let them pass time, earn money, and just generally be in society.
@fidgetthedalmation7433 Жыл бұрын
The point of this is so that it isn’t automated. They do not want the robots to replace actual jobs for people. They want to give people with disabilities that normally wouldn’t be able to do a job and can’t necessarily leave their home the opportunity to be able to have a job, and have something to do and people to talk to. It’s the inclusion. That’s what makes this café so amazing.

Totally missed the point eh

Then you've missed the point of the cafe

It is quite painful to see stupid comments like this. Nobody asked about your experience in robotics.

failed to fully automate. 0/10 bad

the humans operating the robots are disabled individuals. this cafe gives those people an opportunity to gain income despite being unable to have full autonomy of their own body
