Love the recommendation for the lesser-known routes. So many options and so little time. I'll be there in September to start the Invierno in a few weeks based on your recommendation. Also thanks for recommending the Altra's! I'd wear them with a suit if I could.

Thanks to both of you for this. We’ve viewed most of your videos and use the information as a reference point as we plan our Caminos. Our most recent Camino was the Frances and Invierno. You definitely helped us to include the Invierno in our last walk. Good to highlight some of the lesser known Caminos as we look to planning future walks. Well done and keep up the good work.

Consider doing the Camino de Madrid. We walked it in the late spring of 2016. At the time about 500 people per year were biking or walking the route. It was well marked but challenging to find the locals to open up the Albergues and sometimes we had to buy food from trucks that visit the small villages, or get the locals to open up their shops just for us. The old Roman road up and over a mountain pass to the Roman Aqueduct in Sergovia was a highlight. Other highlights were staying in a room connected to the Ponce De Leon Museum and staying in the basement of a Castle. Most of the way was through yellow flowered fields, along paths, through forested areas and a few mountain passes. In one place we even had to wade through chest high grass and weeds between a stream and farmers fields for a few kms. The Camino de Madrid joins the Camino Frances in Sahagun. We went from isolation to walking with hundreds of pilgrims which was a completely different experience. The reason we chose Camino de Madrid is because that is where we flew in, so we just started walking. Buen Camino!

Love your videos!...and the alternative routes. I have done the Salvador, the Invierno and the Sanabras from Chaves, Portugal. Off to do the Argones in October. I did walk from Leon to Ponferrada last year on the Frances but it just a bit too busy for me. I love the suggestion of the Vadiniense but may be a bit tough for my 65 year old bones. Always good to have one on the calendar. Keep up the grand work! Cheers

Hi Guys Love the videos!! Last year my brother and I started in Irun and stayed on the Del Norte to Ribadeo. But then we veered off on to the Ruta do Mar to Ferrol, and finished off on the Ingles. The Ruta do Mar is definitely one you might consider for a future video. Next year's plan is the San Salvador on to the Primitivo. Then train to Ribadeo to finish off the del Norte and then to Finisterre for good measure!! Buen Camino and keep the videos coming. Dave

Y’all, this could not be more timely! Days into the GR11 my girlfriend was suffering FOMO and decided to book a flight. Except she doesn’t want to do one of the hardest hikes in Europe and I’ve already done the Norte, Primitivo, and Portugues (can you guess why I haven’t done the Frances?) so we’re probably going to string together a bunch of these avoiding the hordes as much as possible. Thank you so much for all your videos past and present for making me aware of these!

Made me wanna walk some of these alternatives. Thanks for another great video. About the Via de la Plata before you go: I walked it this March. The landscape is definitely beautiful. What I didn't like, it was overcrowded. Once I had to walk 48km because I couldn't get a bed and the next town was 28km more. Gave up in Salamanca, couldn't even make a reservation for the next stop. Another thing: it's all 'normal' hikers, mostly nice people but no Camino spirit.
@DaysWeSpend

Woah!!! 48 km!!! We’ve only done the last 100 km of the sanabres/via de la plata. One day we’ll walk the rest of it.

Thanks for this list! My husband and I can't get a full month away, but I've been daydreaming about walking the Camino Ingles with a layover in the UK to start with St. Michael's Way in Cornwall. We'd be coming from Canada, so as members of the commonwealth, this makes sense in my brain (and I love a good twofer).

Thanks guys, always entertaining🙂, I am headed to Ponferrada to pick up where I finished my solo Frances walk last year and continue walking to SdC and Finisterre, starting on 21 Sept. Then I am then considering returning to Ponferrada to walk the Invierno from about 7 Oct, do you know if Alburgues/Hostals operate along the Invierno throughout Oct?

I;m planning the Invierno but combing through Brierley, I found alternatives that allowed for much shorter days than 30 km! - thank goodness! My proposed route with stops would take 15 or 16 days with a mix of municipal albergues and private rooms. I sure hope that is doable because at 76 I cannot walk 30 k in one day!

Hello, we just » discovered « your videos full of positive energy and you explain in details .mu husband and I are interested in non lucrative visa and this is how we ended watching your videos and your trips ..we have two questions regarding the authorization de regreso and I guess it’s not necessary to apply for it if we have our papers valid and that you need to obtain it because your papers were in processing phase ? Second we would like to know from your experience if working remotely is allowed as we have still ( we r lawyers ) few files for our old clients to achieve and we r not anyway in an age to retire legally even if we r retired in reality or in our way to be retired .we will be grateful if you can give us a reply .
@DaysWeSpend
@DaysWeSpend 2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching our videos! The regreso is only if you are in the process of visa *_renewal_* and need to leave the EU. Legally speaking, working remotely is not allowed. Our small income from KZbin is considered passive income and that's ok on our visa. You may qualify for the Digital Nomad visa or decide to take a bit of a sabbatical.
