The father undoubtedly fed as much as mother, don't assume it's all mother, but the chicks were sure cramped together. It seems impossible to me that a crow could swallow all those chicks at once, probably made multiple trips, or more than 1 bird. A pelican could down all of them at once, but a crow? Picture all those chicks. Inside 1 crow.

Under normal circumstances this isn’t a type of bird crows predate on. The nests are deep into the embankment with long dugout tunnels with a nesting chamber. The way they are located they are even difficult for snakes to get to since they are straight up on a vertical wall. So they don’t have defenses against predators like this. The dark once something is able to access entry through the long tunnel is usually more than enough. Usually there own species fighting for nesting sites it their only issue, which goes away once the nest is occupied. Nesting pairs will use the same location every season, sometimes even using the same nesting chamber from the previous season. Digging the nests out like this makes so the pair loses the nesting chamber after this, forcing them to expend energy and resources to dig a totally new one. It takes them a week or more to make dig out a whole new nesting site. Someone dug all the way down the embankment wall to gain access to the side of the deep nesting chamber just so they can capture content for monetized views on KZbin…destroying or disturbing of wildlife in this way should not be allowed of monetization.

I'm a dedicated subscriber and appreciate your videos, but I've gotta call you out on this. If you're going to alter the nest for the sake of filming, please, be more responsible and create a much tighter and stronger seal around the nest that better mimics the original structure. It's not the least bit surprising that a ground dwelling species whose nest had been left exposed was ultimately predated upon. I knew within the first video that these chicks were unlikely to survive. Additionally, in species with enclosed nests such as these Bee Eaters (as well as with Kingfishers and Tailor Birds you have filmed in the past), the chicks will instinctively orient themselves towards the light source from the single opening to receive food from their parents. Notice how in videos like this, the opening that you've created for your camera allows a ton of direct light to flood in, and the disoriented babies repeatedly face away from their parent's food offerings, instead begging from the area where the light is strongest. This can easily lead to malnourishment, disease susceptibility that could then spread to the others, and death. If you're going to open up an enclosed nest, you need to carefully seal off the area around the camera so that it remains both darkened and structurally sound. If this means you need to invest in a low light camera and spend more time building a structure, I'm sure it would be worth it for the growth and long term sustainability of your channel.
