I like the decision making that goes into picking which activations occur when. Also, my experience with most chit pulling systems is that the chits that get pulled show wear and tear, which I hate. I often make cards, roll dice, or use some other method than actually pulling chits from a cup. It's good that we can all use the methods we prefer and still feel like we are playing the same game :).

BCS has become my favorite series. Started with Arracourt, moved on to Baptism by Fire and now I'm playing Last Blitzkrieg. I'm still learning the nuances of the rules but I love everything about it so far. As far as optional rules, we always use Soft Jumps and also Engagements at long range [5.2f]

Me and my buddies also use the three chit pull mechanic. Why? You already have a God’s eye view of the map and the counters. With the chit pull mechanic of three, you lose some of that over-control and freedom to chose which formation to activate and exactly when. If you read the battle accounts, you’ll understand battlefield commanders couldn’t hope to have all their commands implemented in the sequence they wanted, given the fog of war and actions of their enemy. In short, it feels more like a plausible simulation with the three chit pull mechanic.

Totally agree. Someone recently told me they lived BCS but couldn’t quite buy the ballet-like precision of the fully sequenced turn structure with no chit pull.
