I was probably about 10 when this came out. Deep song. Meaningful. The beat and tempo take me back to a different time. When I listen now to "Tennessee" I am able to understand it through adult ears...This group were really talented.

Take me back to the 90's. I bought this album on cassette tape back in around 1993 when I was 12. I had tickets to see them in 2023 but I was sick and had to miss out. It was the talk of the town the next day. Hip Hop at it's finest ♥️♥️♥️

My English teacher in middle school Mr. Wall, who also had a music appreciation class showed his class this song. He looked just like Jesus in business casual outfit. Later down the road in high school I heard he passed away and that totally devastated me I went to his funeral and will always remember you Mr. Wall! Greatest teacher ever! Thank you for showing me this song your lessons will always live on! RIP

@@jeremiahkirby6552 thank you for writing about your teacher Angela Sifford! Cancer is no joke! My dad died of cancer when I was 12 from smoking cigarettes. Funny to think that at this time Hip-Hop was defined by violence, women and excess yet had more conscious acts such as De La Soul, Poor Righteous Teachers, A Tribe Called Quest, Styles of Beyond, Slum Village etc. than it has nowadays. Dunno if I'm getting old, nostalgic or both!
