After A Tribe Called Quest and before The Roots there was Arrested Development one of the early conscious, experimental and alternative Rap groups that came out in the 90s in the midst of the Gangsta Rap era. Their conscious Hip hop style influenced artists like Talib kweli, Mos Def and Common. Hope to see a collab between them one day.
