I am in the Berkeley, CA area. I came here around l980 and it was solidly pro-Palestinian. The whole area has changed, as has the country. People have grown fat and wealthy and are obsessed with their stock portfolios, their Smart Phones, and their property values. Sadly, most people around me are supporting Israel. For the most part, Americans are shallow, uninformed and arrogant people who admire might and power and money. They can relate to the Israelis, who are just like them, another wealthy, privileged country, and not the poor Arabs in Gaza.

I am wondering if only 10% of weapons of what Israel possesses reached Hamas then the whole war situation would have been different and US would have asked for immediate ceasefire. Thanks. A very sad situation reminiscent of the Brown Shirts in Germany pre WWII. 😢 I live in South Africa I came here in 1983 so caught the end of the Apartheid system. One thing that had ocurred was the brainwashing of the minority population toward other races and the segregation that kept different races from interrelating which would have brought understanding. It took outside international pressure and a change in leadership internally to allow the required change to occur. It was a turbulent time inside the country. But in the end those leaders found a way to end the system and bring in a new equitable one, still with issues, but it allowed South Africa to move forward and come back into the global world.

I have a relief worker/Christian friend, who while distributing Aid in Gaza, saw 5-8 year old Palestinian children playing "kill Jews" video games in their homes 10 years ago already.
