Arrests made in unsolved murder of Jam Master Jay

Two men have been indicted in the 2002 unsolved murder of Jam Master Jay, the D.J. for the rap group Run-DMC, federal prosecutors in New York City have announced.
Jason Mizell was murdered in Hollis, Queens October 30, 2002, shot at point-blank range with a .40-caliber handgun.

JMJ never seemed like the drug type. I think this was something similar to John Deloreans mindset which was flip the coke and make enough to bail himself out of bankruptcy. It seems One bad choice led to even worse choices and it ultimately took a legend from us. When I was young and dumb an older guy that I sold to had this quote that always stayed with me.. “If you're going to play, sooner or later you will always pay" Stay away from the temptation of that drug life young people, it's NOT worth your life or the pain it brings, and Most times you get in, there are only two ways out of it and that's Prison or in a body bag. So happy to hear of these arrests. My respect for JMJ isn't shook. No amount of illicit drug dealing can change the fact that he's a legendary pioneer of the genre. His music blew minds back in the day. Run DMC always maintained an anti-drug stance and Jay knew better. After a long line of pretenders, imitators and one hit wonders profited off his lead, the music industry was getting harder and harder in the late '90s with the advent of Napster, Limewire and all the rest of them. He wasn't Pfizer or Glaxo or Eli, so of course it's wrong when he did it. Couldn't care less about that. The music is timeless, the beats classical, the talent legendary.

You sound really dumb, it was 2002 and at that time older musicians did not have the same outlets to make money off their music the way musicians do now, plus everyone knows contracts for rappers in the 80s had some of the most shittiest deals in the music industry, Hip-Hop is a young mans genre, so he was not making much money off his back catalog, especially cause he was only scratching on records not rapping. Any major source of revenue for him had to come from tours and as i said it was 2002, Run DMC was not touring and, they were not selling records. Which is why he sold drugs, but was also trying to build his record label abd establish new artists so that he didn't have to do that.
