I don't have alot of the technical knowledge or understanding of the specific details when it comes to the debate of film vs digital photography, but having watched Skyfall again recently I can say it has such a unique and distinct look like nothing else. The blue-gray color that is pulled out is so beautiful, every shot is simultaneously sharp and also the soft light look also creates that impression of water color painting while being subtle enough to remain naturalistic. It keeps a consistent visual style with the other Daniel Craig 007 films but also stands out as a strong singular vision. Just incredible!

I love this man so much; sometimes when I am watching his spectacular work, I just forget to breathe..case in point, the famous train robbery sequence from Jesse James: I must have watched it a million times atleast but I still get goosebumps no matter what...Roger Deakins rules!!!

If Mr. Deakins says he likes and respects your camera that really means something.

Probably because the average film goer assumes the film manifests itself on screen without any consideration as to the craft, skill and expertise of everyone involved.
