I saw this film a few months after its release at a very small local theater. There were only about 15 people there watching since it had been out for a while. At the end of the movie no one said a word. No one left. Everyone just sat in silence and emotion. You couldn't hear anything but this beautiful music and the quite sobs of an elderly woman sitting two seats away from me. No one left until the final credits had scrolled, and no one spoke a word when they did. It was one of the most memorable and moving experiences of my life, and I'm shocked that it came from just a movie. That's why I love this film so much and I think it is more than just a movie. It's the greatest film I've ever seen.

I saw Arrival on a late Saturday afternoon.... I was totally taken in by the film. That line that is spoken by Amy Adams near the end of the film. "Despite knowing the journey and where it leads, I embrace it. And I welcome every moment of it." That was a gut punch. I don't think I uttered a word until the next day. Made me think a whole bunch about life.

Losing the love of my life and my family because of my lack of effort and then seeing this movie and the ending crushed my heart. Just when you think you are moving forward you see the ending and die again. I wish I could have been a better husband. I wish I would have given my all to my wife and let her know how much I cared instead of watching her walk away. Now its too late... shes no longer in love because of my lack of attention. Worst time of my life!
