This horse loves you and trusts you. That is everything. I had my guy at the "best eventing trainer" in California, she hated him and he hated her. He was there 3 weeks. He even hated (Hilda Gurney-thats off the record) but he loved Amy Ewing, her trainer. He won't do shit or he will do minimal or pull his shoes if he doesn't like the person. These awesome, intelligent horses are way smarter than even life long experienced horsemen think.

Layers, schmayers. Y'all might want to invest in some windpants. I lived on an island in the middle of Maine's Penobscot Bay for a year. I had to take the ferry, a 12-mile trip, a lot. Also, I biked the mile to my job, and windpants, (yes, under my teacher-y skirts) saved my fecking life.

Fun to see the behind-the-scenes, it's easy to forget how much work you do just to get there, get set up, keep the horse tuned up.
