Este buque es el antiguo Murillo de la española Trasmediterránea, construido en Sevilla ( España), siendo una serie d 5 barcos gemelos siendo esté el último y el más avanzado. Fue uno de los mejores barcos adquiridos por la naviera española en los últimos tiempos. Operó entre el Levante y Baleares y entre Cádiz y Canarias antes de su venta.
