What a beautiful rendition! So many organists play this piece so fast that it seems that the Queen has to make a quick appearance then rush to catch a plane. Your performance has grace and majesty. Your registrations are spot on. Thanks for posting.

Beautifully played, loved the registrations the organist used. I have heard it played by people who were just showing off how fast they could play, losing the beauty of the piece altogether. Such a triumph of the evolution of our species! This is one of the most accomplished and beautiful of all musical compositions, played here just as beautifully as could ever be. When my second daughter was about 16 she asked me what I really saw in "my" music, so I played this to her, a recording by a small musical ensemble. More than 25 years later she has never asked me again why I listen to "my" music; it has also become "hers". Now I have two reasons for loving this piece. If my brain tried to control my hands, each independent of the other, and my feet with anything even vaguely resembling this level of skill it would be overloaded and unable to activate my breathing. The words "musician" and "magician" rightfully have most of their letters in common.

@towm: You make a great point in your second paragraph. I used to attend George Wright concerts in SFO in the 50s. It was amazing to see his hands fly over five manuals, flipping stop switches, stepping on the foot pedals and contolling the volume. I was lucky to learn a couple of nursery rhymes on a sax. Organists are illustrations of "multitasking". This piece was marvelous.

Organists, while playing the pedals, are seen to be wearing very soft soled shoes, like dance shoes, or socks. I supposed the reason was regular shoes were clumsy and one could easily hit an unwanted adjacent pedal. Well observe Mr Suess wearing stiff leather soled shoes, indicative of his great talent and accuracy! Those shoes, his pedal work did it for me, Mr Suess is the Meister of the noble organ.
