Anne Plowright we were the same between 2007 and 2013 as first my dad was unwell and then we needed to look after my mum. We used to go five miles up the road to Ashwell in the van so we could get back quickly. I used to watch KZbin videos of Scotland so I do understand how you feel.

@@jennyearnshaw7892 my storage has a site, so I moved my van onto the site for 2 weeks this june, it was wonderful!! I felt I was using it and my mum enjoyed it too. We would eat there in the evening before coming home! 10 mins away brilliant! Thank you so much , watching you on your travels helps so much! Van time is the best time. Enjoy!! X

There is a nice little farm shop on the right on the A66 and the stake pipes are lovely full of meat , I wish I had a pound for every trip I did east and west on the A66 when I used to drive a truck before I retired

I was hoping you would pop into Mainsgill Farm shop on the A66, just before Scotch Corner, and see the camels (if they are still there?). A favourite land mark in our family. On second thoughts it is rather a challenging right turn back out on to the A66 again afterwards, if you are travelling east.

Yes they are, but you get a quality site, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for! Just booked clumber park for xmas, and meathrop fell for new year, both after watching your arrival vids while we were at Durham Grange! Yer costing me a fortune! Will you be fixing a towbar to the new motorhome to tow the VW up? I'm fairly keen to get an A frame (already have a towbar on our Autotrail from new) but my wife isn't convinced and says it's like caravanning!

She's right. We say it turns our Motorhome into a caravan, so we can have a motorhome if we want to tour around stopping where we like, or if we want to stop for longer, we can take the car and get to places we can't take the motorhome. Best of both worlds! Yes, we are getting a tow bar fitted.

We really enjoy and appreciate your videos - however when you are chatting whilst driving along its really difficult to hear what you are both saying as the volume is low. It seems like the mike is not picking you up properly. This is just a bit of feedback and not a criticism.

Guys, don’t be surprised at your following. Your videos are fantastic. Very high production values, excellent sound and lovely honest non contrived narration. I love watching your adventures. The new van looks epic! May your success continue to grow! Great video. Yes the A1 sound is a bit invasive. The site looks good though. Could you do a video on campervanning in the winter please. A lot of club sites are now closed till March 2020.

Thanks for the feedback. We will be Motorhoming throughout the winter. Between now and February we have planned trips to Edinburgh, Melrose, Knaresborough, Southport, Tredegar and Strathclyde Country Park, all open during winter. Oh and Moffat!

I agree entirely Bob. We currently own a Baileys Rangefinder caravan built in Australia and are considering moving to a motor home. Trailite in New Zealand build a great motor home but are expensive $220,000 NZ. We like some of the European models but most don’t hold a lot of fresh water and also have small kitchens. However we will further check them out. We like A class, do you have a preference brand.

Providing you have plenty of data, use Google maps on your phone. It updates every single minute on diversions, road closures, accidents, new road layouts and all current speed limits. A recent trip to Manchester, Google maps took me off the motorway and through 30/40mph built up areas, otherwise I would have been stuck on the M62 for a quoted 2.5 hours.

Captain Slow Be very careful using google maps when driving a motorhome . Unless you have specifically entered your height , length and width like you can with the Falcon navigator you need to be very aware that google will re route you through some very narrow roads that may not be at all suitable for a motorhome .

There is a certain irrationality about the VED discrepancies between motorhomes and cars with caravans. A car pulling a caravan, even of moderate size will have comparable emissions (or worse) than van derived motorhomes. This is the same type of discrepancy that applies to insurance and VAT considerations too. Yet motorhomes have whole vehicle MOT certification.... I won’t go on......
