We stayed overnight in Sterling, but couldn't resist calling into Moffat on our way home on Thursday. We stayed there on a serviced pitch with our old caravan a few years ago. It had an unusual water connection for which we had to buy both an adaptor and a second length of pipe from their handy shop (where else!) They seemed surprised that we considered it unusual and were very quick to say that it was all C&MC equivalent standard. Never needed that connector once since (or the second length of pipe!)

Fortunately I have an in line hoselok connector, I use it to connect both ends of my hose pipe so it doesn't drip.

Your campgrounds are 1000 x's better than here in the US! The shops, laundry facilities, toilets and showers WOW!! Also we can't go here in the winter in Illinois because of the weather. Campgrounds are closed October to April and we have to drain and winterize our campers/motorhomes to prevent freezing. Did I hear you mention tank heaters? We have what we call 'snowbirds' over here. The people who go to the southern states, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi etc to avoid the northern winters.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo The inline connector. You mentioned it was unusual to see that kind of thing yet you still had something onboard to make it work. What a coincidence, we left the pitch you are on Friday morning. Be careful with your fresh water, we have the same insulated Swift dump valve, although the valve opened ok there was ice in the pipe which took time getting it to drain, miight be worth saving some hot water in case you have the same problem. If you go to the prison wear some very very warm clothes, it's freezing inside. Paul

@@BobEarnshawMoHo The problem was with the fresh water, the blockage (ice) was outside just before the valve. The fresh tank is under a seat so doesn't need a heater. No problem with the waste, that's outside but I did leave it to fill so the tank heater would come on. Paul

I had the waste and fresh water tap freeze up when we were at Oxon Hall. Cleared by pouring warm water over it. If I was buying the A Frame again, I think I would buy the fixed A Frame.
