My Dad was a Desert Rat. He was in the first wave to land on Gold Beach on D-day early in the morning. His mission was to take and hold a piece of ground that would be the assembly point for the tanks landing that evening.

Another interesting vlog. My late father was a Dessert Rat and was in the D Day landings in the Royal Artillery driving a tank which was a forward observation post. No big gun just a lot of radio equipment.

It’s a lovely place. Got home from shopping on Monday to find a caravan parked in our garden, my hubby had bought was a bit annoyed because it is full of damp, he has started to strip it it out , have to replace all seals and two sky lights it’s going to take months of work. Hello Bob and Jenny welcome to Thetford Forest. We live near Wymondham. Jenny my Grandad lived at Carbrooke. Just think they might have known each other, small world !!!!! We go to the Covert and we walk through the woods. Go through the gate on the walk you went right if you go straight it’s a lovely walk that way through the woods. Enjoy your outings there are some lovely little villages with plenty of history.

Hi Bob, Jenny& Poppy , looks great, we booked onto Stonehenge campsite (trying) staying in a glamping pod for the first time in 2 weeks, said some facilities are open, to see our friend down there , now Boris saying we may be on lockdown then so frustrating as we not been anywhere yet this year due to the crash and work.

Yes, think that's what it was, also think the Army were checking their big guns still worked and the USAF seemed to be transporting all it's people to Mildenhall, apart from that it was fairly quiet. 🤔🤔😊

It's right in the forest, we had a bit of noise from Nato exercises and low flying Ospreys. As you can see in the video it has no facility block, the walks in the wood are good.

Having had Lyme disease a few years ago when it was very difficult to diagnose and treat, please be careful. If hot, wet and muggy, cover arms and legs when walking. Lovely vlog again xxx

No traffic noise at Thetford, it's several hundred yards from the road, but we did get bothered by gun fire and the USAF flying low in their Ospreys.

The 3 word location app is fantastic. Just a thought, why not put the 3 word location if places of interest on your walks, similar to your sign post edit. More work in edit but nice to know where the tank was located for example. Nice vid Bob , did Poppy spot the deer first ?

On our to go to next. We love military history, Jets and helicopters 👌 just sounds like we are sat in our lounge 😂😂 I was watching the check in with interest. We have been using the CCC because of their no contact, outside briefing and no contact rules. Can I ask, do you have to go into the office?? Can you pay online? I went into the office to pay, wearing a mask, one person at a time, hand sanitiser, they are behind a screen, the card machine is sanitised, they couldn't do any more to be safe short of wearing a full hazmat suit! .

About 3 hours to edit, 1 hour to render, and 1-2 hours to upload. Sometimes longer depending on the content. Oh, another half hour if I add chapters.
