What does express lane mean? My parents are coming for the first time on visitor visa and I’m filling the CanArrive app. Is that express lane for them or they need to go through same line?
@YashNico8 күн бұрын
The express lane at Toronto Pearson International Airport typically refers to a faster, prioritized line for travelers who are eligible based on factors like pre-clearance, NEXUS membership, or specific priority services. For your parents, who are arriving on a visitor visa, they will likely go through the regular customs and immigration line unless they have some pre-clearance or special eligibility. The CanArrive app (ArriveCAN) is used to submit travel information before entering Canada, but it doesn’t necessarily grant access to the express lane. Your parents will likely go through the same customs and immigration process as other visitors unless there's a designated line for specific groups (such as seniors or families, which sometimes is the case at airports). It’s always a good idea to ask airport staff on arrival for guidance on any express lane options.

Question: let’s say you’re a US citizen that drives up to Toronto for an international flight. When returning, would you have to clear customs twice - at YYZ and then again @ the US border (remember you’re flying into YYZ but then driving back to the US)?
@YashNico5 ай бұрын
Yes, you are right because you will go through Canadian customs up on arrival and then through US customs at the border.
@ketanfernandes40945 ай бұрын
@@YashNicowas wondering since I know of cases of people driving from the US to fly out of YYZ.
@YashNico5 ай бұрын
Yes, and vice versa. But either way you have to clear customs in both countries.

@YashNicoАй бұрын

Do you know how to transfer from an international flight to a domestic flight??
@YashNicoАй бұрын
Clear Immigration: Upon arrival, you will need to go through Canadian customs and immigration. Make sure to have your passport and any necessary documents ready. Collect Baggage: After clearing immigration, you'll need to collect your checked baggage, even if it’s tagged to your final destination. Clear Customs: With your baggage, proceed to the customs area. Declare any items as required. Recheck Baggage: If your bags are checked through to your final destination, you'll need to drop them off at the domestic baggage recheck area after clearing customs. Security Check: After rechecking your bags, you'll need to go through a security screening for your domestic flight.Find Your Gate: After security, proceed to your domestic flight gate. You can check the flight information screens to confirm your gate number and departure time. Important Tips: Ensure you have enough layover time between your flights to complete all these steps.Follow the airport signs that direct you to "Connections" or "Domestic Connections."If you're unsure, airport staff are usually available to help guide you.

This airport is making customers zig-zag through a massive customs line-up for nothing. They could easily move the custom card inspector to the beginning of the line, instead of right up near the custom officer desks and check through many travelers. Purposely making you wait an extra 40 minutes to 1 hour after a full day of travelling. Horrible..... starting to hate travelling, that's what they probably want to happen.
