The “Arriving at” videos are great Bob - have used them for years every time we go to a site we have not stayed at before - thanks for making them

Thank you, I wish I could make more if them, but we can't be away all of the time. 😀👍

Lovely video and brings back memories of our trip in October. I did that walk with our dogs many times during our stay. Well done for grabbing the late booking, well worth it. Trev.

Brings back good memories of caravanning here as a kid in the early 90s... that back gate- to the left used to be thick bushes we used to play in them. Memories of the Jorvik Viking museum and Clifford's tower and boat rides... miss those days!

She was right! It is the Ouse! (16:29)... The start of the river Foss is just beyond the blue bridge in the background on the opposite side of the river. We stopped overnight in York in our Bedford Dormobile in Georges car park not far from there, way back in 1972, with the intention of traveling on to Scotland. But we decided to stay put & we have lived here ever since!

Two washing machines and two dryers? pure luxury ! I've just stayed at the Canterbury site for a couple of days to do my huge monthly laundry wash. They only have one washing machine and one dryer and the dryer broke down ! total disaster !! Lol

Thanks for the tour of Rowntree Park - and the surrounding area we have been trying for ever to get in there - I think it’s easier to get into Narnia 😃 I believe that the Christmas Markets in York are well worth a visit - enjoy your trip 😊

Have a lovely time and enjoy the Christmas market, one of the most popular sites. I work within the bookings and I love watching your videos it shows me a lot of the sites that I haven't visited even though I do caravan too.

Not only did we do a couple of circuits of the roads on the way in, (from opposite direction) but we managed to find several dead ends when walking back to the site too! 😝

Thanks for the walk aroud York and the castle we really enjoyed it. I reckon the reason why no dogs in castle is the risk that passers by may be tripped up by the lead. I was nearly upended by someone's dog leads in a hardware store recently. Dogs on leads in confined spaces can be a hazard. Downunda -- Melbourne Australia

Nice vid Bob and Jenny Quick question, how far is the walk into the city and is it wheelchair friendly ? Thanks
@BobEarnshawMoHo5 жыл бұрын
It took us 5-10 minutes to get in and I think you can get a wheelchair there, if you go up the side road on the left to the bridge and across. The bridge itself only has steps.

Interesting walk. I've always wanted to visit York, will you be taking us along with you tomorrow?
@BobEarnshawMoHo5 жыл бұрын
Yes, hopefully there will be some breaks in the rain.

We unfortunately did see a motorhome drive under the bridge, and become stuck! So easy to do if you are distracted!

We stayed at Beechwood Grange 3 wks ago and it is a lovely site. It has also just had a new Toilet and shower block built this year and is a very well kept site. The park and ride is about 1.5 mls away and if using your bus pass it is only £1.10 return, which includes your parking fee for the day. There is also a generous carpark for motorhomes only and the bus service is every 10mins. I would be interested to know how far it is to walk into York from your site and if there is a bus stop nearby, at least with the other site you only had to walk to the bus stop and step off and in to your motorhome - convenient if you have a lot of shopping bags.

Thanks, we've stayed at Beechwood Grange several times, great site. It's about 5 minutes walk into the city here, just left out of the site.

My late mother was born in York. Lots of family history there for me, great uncle Billy had no 3 The Shambles as a shop, so if you can get a quick shot would be nice of it. If you get to by Betty's tea room, my grandad was head cashier at the Yorkshire insurance company (now Harkers). The station is worth a visit too. Cheers. Adrian

Good Morning Folks, Enjoyed the video, except why have music playing when we are trying to hear you speak. If you need music choose something better. I stopped watching a channel because he played the same awful music you played yesterday. Rant over. Best Wishes David
