Thanks so much Brother 🤗. I knew that when I went wide, but wanted her to be 50/50 speed and drift Beast 😍. My hope was to go more Go cart style so she wouldn't roll drifting regardless of speed. Epic! I have to say for someone who doesn't play with Speed that much you do just as awesome a job as you're Bashing. 83MPH That's hot! I have a love hate relationship with speed. I love the fact that my Talion can run a solid 72 but I always seem to find things to smash into at Speed. I just destroyed it for the 3rd time and this time I have to defer to my Shop guys for the save. I trashed and twisted the chassis so bad that all the front has to be replaced and my very fine motor skills are gone. More OT coming but this is gonna set me back some. I'm thinking about gearing her back down to stock and running 4S instead of 6S all the time. No problems when I ran that way 50+ is fast enough for an old guy!! LOL. This is one of your best!

@@joshjohnson9167 the shorter Granite chassis won't be as stable at speed, but you could certainly turn her into a speed demon with the proper set-up 👍. This spool is easy to make for about 20$. @@richduperbash2966 kickass, I plan on turning it into a strictly street basher/ drifter. Quite the life this granite will have by the time I'm done with it lol. This will be its 3rd gen conversion lol. So as long as the slipper mod will get me some insane wheel speed, that's what I'm goin for. I have some extra zd racing shocks I plan to eventually shorten to smal this thing to ground. Already running the hot racing 12 to 17mm adapters, on typhon arms, so it's got a good wide stance, with hot racing adjustable motor mount and 18t pinion. I put the blx 3668 2400kv motor In. If I were to do this mod, what pinion would you suggest? The aforementioned one in the video, or smaller?
@richduperbash29663 жыл бұрын
@@joshjohnson9167 gearing will depend on how much drifting you want to do vs outright speeds passes. That kv is a bit lower than the stock 3200. You'll have to gear taller for top speeds. I've found the stocker slipper (57T) paired with a 26 pinion works great for drifting on 4s. I now has my 27/38 spool set-up for passes and the slipper setup for drifting. Easy swap with separate motors and slipper housings.👍

The screws are very short M3 flush mount. Didn't get an exact length. Just long enough to secure some M3 nylon locknuts. You can oval out the slipper hub holes as needed to get the 38T gear and 2 hubs lined up before tightening the screws/nuts. Sorry, I'm new to all this stuff, what exactly did you use the fuel tubing for? Is it inside the shocks? Thank you.
@richduperbash29663 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed 👍. I slid on fuel tubing on the shock shafts inside the shock bodies under the pistons. That effectively shortens the shock length to keep the truck low to the ground for high speed stability. I purposely dropped the nose further than the rear to keep the truck from getting airborne at full throttle 😎💪👊👊

I'm looking to make a spool like what you did so I can use traxxas spur gears and the ease of not using a slipper. Are their any tricks to drilling the holes in the aluminum to make sure the spur is centered correctly?
@richduperbash29663 жыл бұрын
I recommend using that same 38T Traxxas gear for easiest alignment. It's helpful to use the gear screw holes as a template to mark the slipper hubs with a sharpie pen. Use a fresh bit to drill with. It's ok to oval out the holes if necessary to get the gear and hubs centered correctly before tightening the screws and M3 nuts. 🍻😎💪👊👊
@Wreckedekcoupe3 жыл бұрын
Finally got the parts all together to make this work I was unsure of what pinion to use with the 38t spool. I heard you run 27 in the video after a couple times of watching it. Is that a good place to start or what's the smallest I can run? I have a 20 atm with the stock 57 spur and a hot racing motor plate.

Hey mate, just wondering how you attach the esc ? Just double sided tape or is there a secret ? Cheers for the info !
@richduperbash29662 жыл бұрын
Hey Brother 🤗. Yes I used 30lb rated Gorilla mounting tape. I also Dremeled the reciever box/ESC mount flat at the mounting holes and counter sunk them so the ESC itself sits flush. 😎💪👊👊

I cut the mounting screw tabs off my 150A ESC and Dremeled the stock 3s mount flat and countersunk the 2 M3 reciever cover screws. This provided a flat/flush surface to simply mount the ESC on the cover using 30lb Gorilla mounting tape. 😎💪👊👊

I’ve got a Kraton 4s I love the truck but I keep having problems with losing teeth on the rear diff Any help
@richduperbash29664 жыл бұрын
My best advice is don't overtighten your slipper clutch or run really big wheels. I found original Badlands 3.8 to be perfect 👌. Other tip is keep the rear input bearings maintained and seated properly within the diff yoke. If they seize or get misplaced, the input gear will lose proper alignment with the crown gear and your mesh will be lost. Lastly, make certain you replace the stock bearing shim if you disassemble the rear diff. 😎💪👊👊
@afterrunrc99353 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it helps but i had the same issue. I got the aluminum yoke from hot racing and no more issues. I believe my issue was the plastic yoke can strip out the thread for the screws and loosen up causing a bad mesh in the diff.

my slipper clutch screw came un loosened, why is this? did 4s on it.
@richduperbash29663 жыл бұрын
That's just something that can happen with most any slipper clutch. ARRMA added a small catch nut to the back side of the slipper assembly. Best solution is to add medium strength threadlock to the slipper adjustment screw so it stays set. I run most of mine 1/2 turn out from fully snugged. 🍻
@43rocket3 жыл бұрын
@@richduperbash2966 I put threadlock in there but it seized of the the movement of car?
@richduperbash29663 жыл бұрын
@@43rocket that's weird 🤔. Unless it got some into the bearings, the slipper assembly should spin freely once installed and rolled with the car. I always give threadlock a full 24 hours to set up. Make sure you put the assembly back in correctly. Might also check the motor and input gears are spinning without problem just in case you have a separate problem.
