Let's not forget that Arrma was expecting customers afected by the ESC bug to fix it themselves by paying for an ESC programmer box. Arrma is scummy, Traxxas is scummy We need to hold them BOTH accountable.

Received mine a couple days ago. Really great looking. This is my first Kraton. Only had a chance to drive it up and down the street but impressed by how well it handled. But need to turn the AVC rate way down. Had lots of high speed wobble.

Whatever they are using for the new 7075 aluminum chassis material is much better now than the original EXB 7075 aluminum I bent 3 chassis into tacos in 2 months before I switched to M2C racing chassis. I have not bent the new EXB chassis at all since got it and bashed it at the skate park like I always do. If it continues to hold up I'm going to be happy not having to swap it. This is how the Kraton EXB should have been from the start.

Same. I’d prefer not to buy aftermarket on top of the cost of the truck itself so I like what Arrma is doing here with these new trucks

As a consumer, I would hope that there isn't wide enough variation in strength across a specific grade alloy like 7075-T6 to notice, but people's experience with EXB chassis seems to indicate there might be. Perhaps impurities in the batch or maybe even something done in the manufacturing process weakening the material?

Well done Razor! Arrma is churning them out for sure. Nice to see the Kraton can still get around for a backflip, even though it didn't really want to.. could hear you had to give it full throttle to squeak them out.. Backflip MT tires should fix that, if that's what people want it for. I really felt the v5 rtr was already better than the Sledge, this new EXB seals the deal. Look forward to some Razor tuning!!😎🤛👍

By the way, the tower-to-chassis braces are not the same, they are updated V2 ones, with improved screw retainers an the rear brace attaches to the chassis in 2 points instead of one.

I'm running a Kraton 6S V5 BLX with speed pinion and even on off-road, it handles super well. Looking to get some belted wheels for it, too. The one thing I've noticed, and this might be down to battery choice, is that a single 6s v two 3s, provides more consistence results; is this thing that I need to keep doing or are my lipo choices a factor? Thanks for the review though -- always appreciate your impartial views on bashers.

I just got mine and out the box im having an issue idk if its the transmitter reciver or the esc, i had to manually connect the transmitter and followed the step by step worked for 5 mins amd lost all steering itll crank hard to the right and basically seise up, ill shit it down and turn it back on amd it resets and steering is back but itll only run for 2 mins them go back to no steering

Personally, I'm not a big fan of that DX3 radio. I don't know if I just got a lemon. Or does the radio sucks? The one that cane with my Losi promoto. Had range issues. I couldn't go further than about 100/150 feet with the bike. On an open field, mind you. I emailed Horizon. They sent me another radio. I haven't had a chance to test it. But, I have a feeling that it will still have the same problem. I really wish I could install my RadioLink on the bike. But, I will lose the gyro start function.

Is it louder than your okder Kraton EXB setup? It did seem rather loud and clicky in the video. Doesn’t seem to be as “smooth” running and quiet as some of the Traxxas I have seen (I don’t own any).

Traxxas XRT and Xmaxx Ultimate editions come with aluminum diff housings

They're not 1/8th scale. Not even the same league. Besides, even the XRT can't compete with this one on durability. It snaps really easy. Bad wheels, hexes snap in half etc.

Its just the diff covers that are aluminum on yhe x maxx ultimate.. these new exbs jave a full aluminum case

The discount you get on the aluminum parts purchasing the Traxxas Ultimate edition as an entire package (compared to buying the standard version and aluminum parts separately) is relatively small compared to the package discount you get when buying an EXB edition Arrma vs standard Arrma.

Interestingly, watch L2theW video on this truck. His actually sounds nice and smooth. I think minor imperfections in spur and pinion gears, even ones within production tolerances (at least ARRMA's production tolerances LOL!) can make a significant difference in how smooth or crunchy they sound.

@@barbedwirerat661 the pinions are made from crap material. Safe D is good if you want a higher chance of snapping ur motor shaft. Put a robinson racing in it or the old arrma pinions. You will hear the sound difference. The material and the gear shape is what causes the sounds. Jason pelrin made a video on it on his outcast v5 last year i believe. Any trucks i had with safe D sounded awful
