My biggest problem with this has been broken arms. It's not a new problem with the platform but it's become less tolerable as more durable cars have come out. I think you're scoring is pretty fair though you might catch some flack from some other channels :-)

The solution for the drive cups is to install M2C RACING diff cups. Unfortunately this is common across the 6S lineup. Once you install the M2C diff cups you don't have that problem. Also even the EBS V2 you gotta remove the spacer at the end of the lower arm. Another issue is the stock shock cap bushings. They're a rubber sleeve style. And there's a lot of slop. Again install M2C delrin bushings. Problem solved. Realistically with any rtr that is mass produced you should be taking the diffs out to fill and or replace the fluids to spec or liking. All fasteners that require loctite should be checked. All before the first run. I still feel that this EBS V2 offers a lot of rc for 700 bux. Compared to anything else at this price point.

Have a question. I got the 8s Outcast EXB Rtr V2. Costa the same as a regular Rtr but but the 6s is 150 more. The 8 S outcast is a beast. Got her in October and the only part broken was a front tie rod end. Wonder why she extra cost on the 6s but not the 8 ?? Thank you. Much appreciated

Im suprised that people are breaking drive cups on these. Mine have been holding up knock on wood. I did break a front arm that was my fault and I broke a rear arm on a bad landing. I changed the tires to db backflips just like them better.

I’ve only broken a few arms and shredded a rear bearing yesterday but haven’t broken a drive cup, yet and I’m launching mine 40’ into the air. I don’t like the Copperheads on it and also switched to the Backflips.
@smeefbeef3674 ай бұрын
Same with me, broke a front arm going full speed into my Buick, obviously my fault. Then I broke a rear arm from a bad landing with 20 feet of altitude. 15 batteries bashing it just as hard and no breakages yet. Landing on packed clay most of the time too.

All rigs will break and it's usually driver error. Usually when something breaks when it shouldn't have its from a previous impact that should have broke it but only cracked or weakened it enough for the next jolt to finish it off. What's unacceptable for me is poor design and engineering. Things like Traxxas electronics in general and proprietary parts, pieces, and plugs.

6 Month Update - I pre-ordered mine and received it just before Christmas 2023. I run my Truck a lot like Rich Duperbash or RCDude81. I absolutely torture this thing at skate parks send it off absolutely gigantic jumps at full speed. This is truly the greatest truck Arrma has ever made. To this day I haven't replaced a single part, just screwed in a couple screws that backed out during bashing, all on the steering assembly. The Turnbuckles and ackerman screws don't have any locktite from the factory, just a tiny mistake. Even the factory stock steering servo has survived up to this point which is simply mind-boggling considering in the past I remember Arrma factory stock servos that couldn't handle a single jump before burning out or shattering the plastic casing. However, it looks like my luck of no repairs is finally coming to an end, and it is indeed that stock servo that is finally going. There is now slack in the servo and you can turn it 5° in each direction with no resistance. The steering is so bad that the truck refuses to travel in a straight line. So despite the fact that the factory servo is still technically going, Im going to be forced to upgrade it. Im actually looking into what servos I should consider as I type this comment. The one that has caught my eye is the AGFRC A81BMWP. At $115 its a bit pricey but offers 667 oz-in and 0.100 speed at 7.4V.

That's the servo I'm putting in mine when it arrives. I have been using it in a crawler for some time and I really like it. It should be good in the Kraton 6s also. Good to hear your experience 👍

As far as the noisy drivetrain it’s from the aluminum bulkheads they amplify the sound as opposed to damping the sound with plastic bulkheads, and I have to disagree about the v1 and v2 handling the same because they do not the v2 is far more dialed in the shocks have been completely re tuned and it really soaks the landings. Just my ten cents

Sounds like there's no fluid in the center diff. I bought same kraton and out of the box was perfect. No noise like that. I beat the hell out of it and have had no axle cup issue yet.
@edwinlomonaco67544 ай бұрын
Oh yeah. The stock hubs and bearings on this rig are not very tough. But this is a 6S rig issue across the lineup. I just replace the entire hub with Hot Racing hubs. The HR hubs use oversized bearings. Reduces maintenance. Takes a bigger beating. Removes chance of having the ball pop out of the socket. And it it looks cool.

One thing I don’t think most people take into consideration with Arrma is just how much heavier their cars are compared to most other comparable brands at the same scales. My buddy has the 6s Arrma notorious. And it’s almost as heavy as my traxxas XRT. Heavy duty parts add weight. So a heavier car has more potential for breakage when jumping, crashing, etc, than others. So far I’ve had real good luck with my 3s granite and 4s outcast. Great video man.
@christopheranderson69314 ай бұрын
I've been saying the same thing for a long time and a lot of folks don't believe me. Weight is the enemy of durability. The lightweight mostly-plastic RCs often can take far more hits and walk away without any issues than the 1/8 scale metal ones. My Big Rock and Hoss have walked away from impacts that sidelined my friend's 6S Kraton. Sometimes it's best to keep an RC plastic and light and cheap to repair.
@keldonator21 күн бұрын
I considered this also. That's why when I was looking into getting a 1/5 scale I was leaning towards Traxxas. But the longer I wait the more I hear from people with both the xrt and a kraton 8s that the kraton breaks less and is more fun to drive. I passed up on a great deal for a kraton 8s because of my weight thoughts and I've been kicking myself a bit now for not getting it.
@BobPavlow21 күн бұрын
@@keldonator don’t kick yourself. I have the XRT. It’s a blast and at least I haven’t had any issues. I have no complaints about any of the traxxas or Arrma RC cars I own.

Funny you mention it being incredibly noisy. I thought I was the only one that got bothered by that. I bought the 6s Big Rock after it came out and dealt with the same problem. No matter what I did, I could not get it to quiet down. I finally got so annoyed I went back to the hobby shop in early April and traded it for a new one. I had also bought the Kraton exb and neither of these has had this problem however unlike the first Big Rock, for these two I have not changed the pinion gears. Never had that problem with the Talion or Mojave but I am wondering if these new ones don't respond well to pinion gear changes.

Great video AJ. Have to agree with your assessment. I think there's too much of an assumption in the hobby that "bigger, 1/8 scale, and metal" automatically equals "fewer issues" and that's just not the case. Everyone I've seen who speaks honestly about this truck is having more problems with it than I have with my 1/10 scales that cost 1/3 as much.

Run out of the box shouldnt mean "even with faults". If if has a minor manufacturing issue then it should be corrected. If it had loose wheel nuts, you are saying you wouldnt tighten them up before the first run?
@AJJAMStudios3 ай бұрын
Ready to run means it is ready to run, period. It doesn’t mean wrench on it first. For people who purchase one but have zero experience they usually buy RTR and just play with it. So, yes, I will run the wheels off of it and dock points for coming apart.
