Arrma Kraton 8s rear Diff. Broken, let's fix it ARA310914 ( DRRC Stunt )

After the last exit I broke the rear differential of the my Arrma Kraton 8S,
so I dedicated this little video to the replacement of the internal gears.
I hope I have been able to help someone who has never done it 😉👍

I have rebuilt multiple diffs, several on the 8s. Not sure why I didn't think to use the pin access hole as a bleeder. I will be doing that next time. thanks man!

Nice intro. My front diff on my Outcast 8s exploded after months of abuse with the XLX2 and 1100kv motor with 35/47 gearing. The plastic case split so I'm changing the new one to GPM aluminum. It fiit perfectly. Now I just have to test it out but I've heard good things about these cases. 👍

@@drrcstunt Someone in the Arrma forums say that they suck (the gpm diff cases), so I have to look into that.

@@joseCalderon1976 yes, many people are against gpm because it uses too soft aluminum, and this is true because many things are better not to buy because they break immediately, but it also has a lot of good things, like the gears and the CVDs are very good and super strong. I had a gpm differential case for arrma 6s and I was happy with it 😉

@@joseCalderon1976 GPM usually sucks, Arrma has released their own aluminium diff cases for the 8S, I would use those.

Very good video. Straight 2 the point. One question...diff oil, 1,000,000? Manual says 100,000. At least that what it says in my 8S kraton exb. Why 1,000,000?

Really thank you buddy, yes you are right, in the original instructions from: back and forth 100,000 cst and in the center 1,000,000 cst, but the oil in the differentials must be used the gradazuine that you think is right based on what you use it to do. In the sense, that if you ride on asphalt you need a setting, if you want to drift you need a setting, if you ride on the track and do the races you need a setting etc. on the other hand I need a very reactive rc, because I do tricks and jumps so I need a good recovery and not to lose power because the oil is too liquid. My setting on kraton 8s is like this: Front 1.000.000cst, center 20.000.000 and rear 1.000.000, but soon the front will become 2,000,000cst. the next video next Friday will be with this 8s after the differential adjustment, so you can see the reactivity with these oils 🙂👍. I hope I have explained myself well enough

With this oil conformation I like it a lot, it works very well on dirt and asphalt too

Great video tutorial. But, I noticed you didn't use any shims in the diff. Is it not advisable to use some in the diff? Like in the 6S version?

I think you should have added more shims to avoid doing this again. It happened for a reason :(

it happened to me because it was the only differential that I had not yet replaced the original oil, and from the factory they are always half empty, now it's much better 👍👍
