Rich, I just received my new typhon 3S yesterday and broke the front left shock. I did order new shocks and also a 20t pinion gear both should arrive on Friday. I was really enjoying the Typhon drives, handles flies so much differently and then Redcat Shedder. they are different size trucks Typhon 8th and Shedder 6th scale. Shedder drives and feels heavy and is very loose. Typhon feels drives and feels lighter. I can't wait to get it rolling again!

Liking the tyre choice for the Typhon, definitely a beefed up basher buggy you created there. Well done on another great bash, I thought something would've broken at some point with some of those tumbles, but the Typhon don't quit for no one. Not even you, Rich. LoL 😀😂 BTW, love that bash spot... 😍

Hey Rich, is there any way you could do a video on how you set the slipper clutch properly for the 3S??? I just upgraded my Typhon 3S (had it a little over a week now) to a Castle Mamba X Extreme 2S-6S ESC and the 1415 2400kv Castle motor. But I think my slipper clutch is out of whack and want to make sure its set right before I put the new combo in.
@richduperbash29664 жыл бұрын
It's easiest to set with the slipper and motor unit off the truck. I just hold the spur gear from underneath, snug the adjustment screw all the way down, then back off about a 1/2 turn. If it loosens again, I just add some Loctite 242 blue threadlock to the threads. 🍻😎💪👊👊

My son saved up and still had Christmas loot totaling a couple hundred bucks and was shopping for another crawler specifically an Everest gen 7 ... Ugggh, being the head mechanic, pit crew, and eventual silent investor of all things RC in our household I dreaded another "boat" of an RC vehicle ( any real boat owner will tell you...a boat is a hole in the water you throw money into) he's 11 , so basic 10 scale sct type stuff is the extent of his hands on experience and he's been responsible and gained a measure of competency that warrants exploring the next level.. okay, I gotta be honest ... Dad wants one too . So I planted a couple seeds , made sure my son was front and center when my neighbor pulled his talion out for a rip on the culdesac .. visited another buddy and he pulled out his Typhon 6s for a few speed runs ..... Ahh, I see gears turning .. and to seal the deal and sway this young man's opinion I reminded him that "crawling is for babies" . Well, Hook line and sinker .. " hey Dad, I was thinking I might want to get an ARRMA ... Maybe a Typhon 3s ?" Don't judge, I'm trying to maximize fun around here people ..you gotta get dirty, cheat if necessary... and learn to manipulate your kids toy choices if it comes to it. Sure dad's gotta chip in the other 100 bucks to get the thing ... but we worked out a little deal and it seems we now have a full time groundskeeper , Ahh child labor ... our lawn is gonna look like a putting green soon I'm sure. Well , two weeks pass and an almost daily dose of ripping plus few amazing bash sessions at construction sites and parks and it clear his confidence has grown in testing his skills driving the Typhon with 3s set to kill mode .. it's taken incredible hits and is by far the easiest thing I've ever seen in the RC vehicle realm to actually work on . I have yet to actually need to do anything ...just curiosity under the guise of inspection and cleaning. so far not a single parts breakage We tried out sand paddles , a whole new type of fun ! So preemptively I ordered sealed bearings because I am sure we will be needing them shortly... Other than the bearings that haven't needed to be but are ready put in, adding some very bright lightning, a tbr front bumper and rear bumper/wheelie bar it's needed nothing .. The unfortunate result of this high reliability is dear old dads mechanical aptitude and technical expertise is rarely required ... ARRMA you've outsourced my job and semi legitimate way to weasel my way into some play time with this machine without the wife accusing me of hogging all the fun... oh ARRMA you sneaky bastards . I've been relegated to spectator status and I get little to no trigger time as a result. My son didn't have to say a word , I got the message kid . It was "get your own dad " at least that's the jist of it. "One is none and two is one" I thought , that was my first attempt to justify to myself what I knew after two weeks was simply inevitable.. " The boys having having a great time with that thing honey... a second identical unit means no downtime waiting for a part " ... Yeah that one didn't fool my wife the way it fooled me but that's how my delusional mind works ... In the end it boils down to the age old "can't beat em, join em" philosophy. So here I sit on a Saturday morning eagerly waiting for the Amazon and UPS trucks arrival ... By the afternoon we will both be ripping our 3s Typhons together, having a blast ! Thanks Mr Duperbash for the great content and giving us the down and dirty consistently.. it's appreciated. Thanks ARRMA for putting out some impressive products and please keep up the good work were sold on the ARRMA lineup and will be moving up the ranks to the 6s stuff in short order.

I bought the original Badlands 2.8 and glued them on F-11 2.8 rims. The rims got replaced by Raid 2.8 with removable hexes. Here's a link that might work. Just need to purchase the Proline 17mm hex. www.rcsuperstore.com/pro-line-badlands-2-8-tires-on-raid-black-6x30-fr-rr-wheels-2/?gclid=CjwKCAiA3KefBhByEiwAi2LDHDy0A5AwXVLhiynEtEmdWB8DiKdKQ6wjRELbJFu9HkV2-GCqcWbFRBoCTvIQAvD_BwE

Hey mate these 2.8 badlands have an inner diameter off more than 90 mm so they don't fit on 2.8 / 70mm rims. Are you using 3.8 rims f11s?

I'm using 2.8 F-11's with original Badlands 2.8 tires/foams. I'll try and link you to the tires. This link is for premounted with Prolines newer Raid style rims. What sort of battery life are you getting out of yours? I got the 3s last week and got two 50c 4200 mAh batteries but I'm only getting about 7-10 minutes out of them.. guy at my local hobby shop thinks it's the "speed control".. any advice is appreciated.

So what's the consensus on the Badlands since it's been a few weeks...have had them in my cart for a few days now and I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I don't have jumps like this to pull flips off of w/ my stock Typhon 3S tires...I'm thinking adding the extra mass w/ the bigger/wider tires will help w/ the flips, as you mentioned in the video. Still feel good about them? Gonna cost me around 65 to upgrade. Thinking the Badlands for the dirt/grass and the stockers for street use.
@richduperbash29666 жыл бұрын
I definitely like the original Badlands 2.8s 😍. They're fast, responsive, and allow for quick turning 👌. Was hoping to try my wider/heavier MX28s or Trencher 2.8s just to compare, but the weather went to crap and I got busy with my V3 Kraton build and M2C chassis testing 😨. The Badlands are perfect for speed bashing while still having great buggy agility. If you want easier flips though, you might consider the MX28s🤔. They work great on the Granite and the Big Rock from what I've seen. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

@@richduperbash2966 awesome thanks. Don't think I want to go as big as mx28s. A lot harder on the drive train. But then again launching it 15 feet in the air isn't exactly easy on it! Lol. Thanks for the info!

Dude, if you had to choose between a senton 3s or typhon 3s as a basher which would you go for?

Hi! Rich, Out of the Arrma 3S BLX series which one do you like for bashing! The Typhon, Granite4x4, Senton or Big Rock 4x4 ? I have a DHK Zombie 8e that I've had for 2 yrs & really like but want to upgrade to a more durable RC as in one of above the Arrma's. " Budget" Fixed income! I bash mostly in dirty sand or grass- sometimes on street in front of my house! Your advice would be most appreciated as everyone say's you are the most respected and " Baddest" Basher on our humble Planet ! : ) : )

@richduperbash29666 жыл бұрын
Thanks brother 👊!!! It's held up very well 👌. The lightweight 3s is ultra responsive and agile 😨. The 6s is a BEAST no doubt. Lots more aluminum with the 1/8 6s and ultimately way more power. It's far easier to wrench on the 3s and parts are cheap 👍. They're both wonderful rigs. They handle much differently of course. 😍🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

@, quick question brother - I want to to extend my axels on my 3s @ for improved stability and so I can add a set of Proline MT 2.8 badland tires on it, like you did!! Just need to confirm this is the correct part for the extenders!! - Are they the Hot Racing Arrma Nero 17mm Wide Hex w/Serrated Nuts (+5mm) or the 10mm ones? Also what shock oil weight do you use for the front and rears?
@richduperbash29664 жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed this Brother 👀. No need for extensions with the 2.8 wheels on the Typhon. There's plenty of clearance. I was running stock shock fluids and she ripped 😍. Did later switch to Turnigy Trackstar buggy/truggy 4mm 7075 shocks in later videos. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Hello, I want to purchase this but there are two versions? what is the difference between the Arma typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD BUGGY W/Spektrum 2.4GHz Radio vs Arma Typhon V3 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy w/ Spektrum SLT3 2.4Ghz Radio Is it just the radio? one is 299 one is 319?
@richduperbash29663 жыл бұрын
Go with the SLT3 option Hamza 👍. The Spectrum STX2 is complete junk 😝. Horizon is likely fazing it out due to a huge number of complaints. It has horrible ergonomics with crappy responsiveness, weak spring tension, and a noticable delay when making subtle corrections. I felt bad giving it away even for free 😂😎💪👊👊

@richduperbash29664 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed 🤗. Definitely not belted 2.8 Prolines due to weight, but I've ran MX28's on my other 3s rigs for along time. These Badlands 2.8's glued on F-11 2.8 17mm hex are absolutely perfect for the Typhon 😍. They're much lighter and faster than the MX28's or Trencher 2.8s. 🍻

@richduperbash29666 жыл бұрын
I think Trencher 2.8s or MX28s would work great for jumping and pulling flips👊. Only thing is you lose quickness and agility with the wider/heavier wheels. The Badlands 2.8 feel about perfect 👌🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

Make sure to replace at least the spur gear bearings with rubber sealed early on and strongly consider the HR motor mount to set your own mesh + have more gearing options. I'm still trying to decide on the Typhon or the Kraton. Either way i'm going to have a blast. I did mean to ask what you think of the plastic shocks. Are you going to replace them or keep them on it?
@richduperbash29666 жыл бұрын
That's a tough call on the Kraton vs Typhon 🤔. If you have rugged terrain and bash spots, grab a Kraton perhaps. The plastic shocks are very durable and perform well👌. I'll probably upgrade them though as there's larger volume, beefier options that can achieve better dampening. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
@Oper8or6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice Rich. I don't think i'll be able to afford the Kraton so i'll probably have to go with the Typhon 3s. i'm sure i'll be happy either way but now i'm considering the Zombie 8e as well. I'll make up my mind within the next week and have either of them bought by the end of the month.
