I'm not a martial artist. I just cannot believe that any one form of martial art is superior to the others. Even the one form by itself can be countered by a fighter who posses great skill and is clever with counterattacks and defensive moves. All forms of martial arts have their strengths and weaknesses. And, respectively, they share a common goal: to condition the mind, body, and spirit. Perhaps some kind of martial art defense may help me out of a situation in which there is no escape or any other option but to defend myself... but if my only purpose with a martial art is to become a human war machine, then I am no better than an opponent or adversary.

His philosophy and teaching was to adapt to your situation you were in and constantly evolve in your skills and learning, he said have a form with no form. He took the best of the best skills and combined them into his own approach and style. Not a master but have a few years of Tae Kwon Do, 2-3 years of Karate, some boxing & wrestling, no Kung Fu training but huge respect for Kung Fu, sparing or fighting, my personal style is closer to Kung Fu than any martial arts l have trained in, thanks to Bruce Lee. You are deluded and arrogant

How an art is trained is just as important as what it trains. I've only met one Taekwondo student who ever impressed me, and several for BJJ, but many more for karate and muay thai just because those students didn't train for sport. Kung fu, when trained for combat rather than sport, is effective, as is tai chi, kempo, boxing, or any other art.

Lastima que no se respete el legado de las artes marciales con esta caricatura. 1 Ninguno de los movimientos corresponden a los de un Samurai tampoco al Kendo y mucho menos la conducta corresponde a la de un Samurai. Un Samurai no falla a su honor en ningún caso. Es verdad que China fue invadida y abusada por el imperio japonés y por su puesto es un drama terrible pero eso ya es otra historia. Las artes Marciales están totalmente al margen de la política e imperios y todas, las genuinas Artes Marciales completan su nombre con el DO = TAO y se siñen indefectiblemente al DO. Karate DO - Ju DO -Aiki DO - Tae Kwon DO - Ken Do - Hap Ki DO y en los que no está escrito se da por sentado de manera fundacional. Como en el Wu Shu - Kung Fu - y otros donde sólo se menciona el estilo Shorin Ryu - Goyu Ryu - Kio kushin - En Shin ninguno declina de la senda del TAO TE CHING. Para conocer del modo más directo bibliograficamente a un Samurai recomiendo la Obra escrita por el más grande: "Los 5 anillos de Miyamoto Musashi" para conocer sus aspiraciones más elevadas. "El SHO BO GENSO" Obra del momje ZEN Dogen para descubrir el estado, el sentir y la conducta y por supuesto la obra primordial EL TAO TE KING Si no eres de lectura y solo películas te recomiendo por lo menos algo bueno entretenido y cercano. La Miniserie SHOGUN con Richard Chamberlain y Toshiro Mifune. Y la celebre película Japonesa de Akira Kurosawa "Los 7 Samurai" Gracias por haber leído hasta aquí.

Kung fu is only useful when the other person is following the rules of Kung fu. I do not mean to offend anyone and respect the art, but it is highly telegraphic and not effective against alot of other disciplines if the other person is equally trained. The same as a good boxer is not good against a good grappler.

Caraca. Pensar que nos anos 70/80 eu era fissurado nesses filmes de Kung Fu. Assistia a todos os filmes nós cinemas da Liberdade em SP. Graças a esse interesse aprendi um pouco de artes marciais e toda vez que precisava me defender dos valentões eu saia humildemente por cima. Me restringindo apenas a me defender. Só que para se defender vc acaba machucando um pouco o adversário e ele fica com mais ódio de você por não entender que ele é tão bravo e valentão e você um franzininho qualquer. Mas aí já era problema dele. Quando eu perdia minhas lutas eu não odiava meu adversário. Apenas reconhecia que ele era bom e procurava ver onde eu tinha falhado. Isso serviu para minha vida toda. Hoje sou um velho e não preciso mais lutar para me defender pois passei a vida toda lutando como um verdadeiro herói. Venci. Mas sempre peço a Deus humildade para continuar seguindo em frente. Com muita empatia pelas pessoas e sempre torcendo para que o bem vença no final. Acredito na justiça de Deus.
