The House 3 Arrow version is the way to go, it's fully uncut, whereas the Shout Horror Show version only contains the R Rated version. Also there is a 4K set for these movies available in Germany, it's very reasonably priced on Amazon currently, just €45! As for the films, I have a soft spot for part 2, part 3 is a fun fun Freddy type movie, 4 is trash and I just can't get into the first one.

The sequel is VERY different, so if you're going to watch it go into it with that mindset. It's not really even a horror movie, more like a sci fi/fantasy film.

I actually don`t own this boxset, I have a 3d lenticular import boxset and it`s awesome. The cover is the dead hand pushing the doorbell button. You move it left and right and the finger moves to hit the dooorbell. As far as 4ks go, they have all been released in mediabooks over seas. There is even a deluxe mediabook set with all 4 films

The early Arrow limited edition region B blurays (white& blue cardboard outer cases, ifkyk) that i picked up at Mondo Kim's in NYC were what convinced me to buy a region-free blu player. If you're a physical media collector, you really need to own a region-free player. Other countries get so many amazing limited edition sets that the US doesn't

I remember when the word got out about the UK boxset with the booklet being region free, so I bought it from I believe it was Diabolik dvd. It’s still one of my prized possessions. I also have the Anchor Bay double bill of the first two films and the Scream Disc of The Horror Show. My favorite one is The Second Story. I love how it is even more lighthearted than the first one and John Ratzenberger’s cameo basically steals the whole movie. I revisited the first two movies last year and they hold up. My daughter loved the Caterpuppy too.

I have that set. One of the crown jewels of my collection. House was a great discovery for me. I was a kid when it came out. I remember seeing the creature designs in Fangoria magazine before it was released. When I finally spied that famous cover in the video rental store, I snagged it immediately. But my first purchase like this from a boutique label was the Nightbreed Limited Edition that Scream Factory put out in 2014 which kind of set the template for these types of Limited Editions from other boutique labels.

My brother had my parents rent House right around the time it first became available to rent, I was like 5 years old, and it terrified me completely. Then a few years ago my wife was wanting me to show her some of the movies I grew up watching, and the subject of the first horror movie I remember watching came up. So we got to talking about this and she really wanted to see this movie that scared me so much. So I ordered the DVD from Amazon and we watched it the first night it arrived. As soon as the credits rolled, she turned to me and just started laughing. I love the movie, but I don't know what I found so scary about it.

I originally got both, US and UK versions (Limited Editions). Eventually sold the US one and kept the UK on since it is better. I also picked up the German Mediabook Set in the really Limited Faux Leather. So nice.

The Horror Show VHS tape is one of my prized VHS tapes. As far as I know, it's the only way to see the unrated version.

@@dustbin5044 Yep, Arrow finally put out the unrated version on DVD/blu ray, it's the only way I'll watch the movie. The MPAA really butchered that movie.

I'm in the uk and I got the 4 film boxset for £22.99 in the HMV sale and I snapped it up. My husband watched them all with me and loved them. Well he had a surprise in store for me- he got me a tshirt for House 3 and IT'S REVERSIBLE and on the inside is the movie poster for The Horror Show. He got it made for me, full on bootleg shirt 😂

I have the UK 4 movie blu-ray / DVD box set with the hardcover book, and all 4 are region free... the first 2 movies are marked as region A and B and the 3rd and 4th movies are marked as region B but all play in a region A player

i saw house 1 and 2 when i was a kid like 2005/2006ish, and loved them both. i didn't know about 3 and 4 until like 2019ish, when i saw that 4 film box, so i grabbed that. i dont really care as much about extra features except for deleted scenes/alternate cuts type stuff, so i was fine with the slim version. one of the most suprising things, my grandfather who doesnt really care for horror stuff except for like B&W king kong and godzilla type stuff, loves house 2🤷. also, you're absolutely 💯 on 4, if ever there was a movie that was a cash grab DTV sequel that should be sued for false advertising, its that one🤣👍

3 and 4 weren't really HOUSE movies. They just slapped the HOUSE brand on them. They were made independently of the series

The original house used in the first House was next door to my grandparents’ house in Monrovia, CA. In fact you can see part of my grandparents’ property in some of the exterior shots. My dad was really excited about this fact when I was a kid and he rented the film but wouldn’t let me or my siblings watch it. lol

From what I remember, at the time everyone was liking House. People were talking. But all that stopped with House 2. People really hated part 2. Basically, it was over. Done. I bet everyone who was talking about House back then, in '86 doesn't know they've made more of these movies past part 2. House 2 was game over for people at the time. I haven't seen anything beyond part 2. Hell, I don't remember much of the 1st 2 movies. People had hope for more, but......

It's a radically different movie than House 1 and I don't think people were prepared for that back then, but I think it's a brilliant sequel. It just does its own thing shamelessly and didn't try to repeat the first one again which ironically people would've hated as well.
