I started as a file clerk and after a year and 3 months, I received a promotion to a legal assistant...It's possible with determination and consistency...I've always wanted to do office work but didn't know how to start without experience. Thanks to my fiance advice and encouragement as well as some youtube interview skill videos, I was hired. Now, I'm studies to become an Accountant too.

I love your enthusiasm and your encouragement! 😊 I got back into the Legal field after not being in it for years, and I went back to school and got my Paralegal certificate. I'm currently a legal secretary, but eventually would love to be a paralegal one day! So I'm definitely subscribing! 😅

I’m currently working in the medical device industry/quality assurance. It’s a very technical role. I have an interview next week with the head of a legal document preparation service and am so excited! I’m binging all your videos to prepare and am doing a ton of research. Thank you so much. 🙏🏻 I’m so glad I found your channel.

What an outstanding presentation, Misty. I've been a Sr. Paralegal for four decades (in just about every practice area) and have taught paralegal students for several years. In California, the courts are almost all shut down, so paralegals have to be more resourceful than ever. Please share your tips for getting by with fewer resources you can call upon. Thanks!

Hi Misty, I am really enjoying your series. It is incredibly helpful and informative. I am currently trying to leave the medical field as a secretary/medical assistant to pursue paralegal studies/position. I am debating a certificate vs degree (terrible with mat and need better ms office skills) while scoping out positions near me. Thank you for all the time and heart you put into your videos. I appreciate you.

I have 6 years of experience in the legal industry. I deviated to another industry for financial reasons. I'm trying to return to the legal industry, but I struggle with the interviews.

I was a mental health technician for four years and I took a year off to finish my B.S. degree full time. I’ve always been interested in law and I’ve always wanted to be a paralegal. I don’t want to have to subject myself to yet another two years of schooling. I already have two degrees now. I believe your tips may help me truly land the career I’ve always wanted.

@@ArrowConsultants_MistyMurray I am beyond ready to spend the money to go all the way through undergrad and law school however do not have it & caused myself to lose financial aid a few years back. So I definitely need to work to support my son but also to get through school. So I'm extremely familiar with the civil, criminal & family law, TRCP, DROPC, e-filing etc., but lack official experience and surmise that is a large part of why I'm failing to secure a legal assistant or secretary role. Clearly people get experience somewhere so obviously there is something either with my resume or in the way that I am or am not applying resulting in my being passed over.

In the past I’ve heard you mention that it would be a good idea to start a blog. What types of blogs or what blog topics do you think would be beneficial for an employer to see?
@ArrowConsultants_MistyMurray

If you're starting a blog to capture the attention of potential clients or employers, then your blog should be focused on you and your audience - what are you doing that sets you apart, what problems can you solve for them, what resources do you recommend, etc. Before sitting down to write a blog, ask yourself: "How will my target audience relate to this topic." Don't forget to do your keyword searches, and remember ..... whatever your mind can conceive, you can achieve. Good luck!
