I had Douglas Lusk as one of my professors for my paralegal program. His technology classes definitely helped me understand the different types of programs that firms use. Now working in a law firm, I was able to give my employer, insight on some of favorite doc management programs when considering switching platforms, because of Lusk’s class. I also received a NSLT certificate, after completing the program, which helped me get noticed when applying for paralegal positions. If you have the chance, definitely take his program. It’s worth it! Thank you Douglas Lusk and Misty for sharing this.

I’ve been trying to sign up but the discount code is coming up invalid. I tried all CAPS and lowercase. Was there a cap?

Hi Misty, thank you for the video. As a litigation paralegal, what 12 different software programs would you recommend to complete for the knowledge checks to get the NSLT certificate?

@arrowconsultants, which email server do you recommend if one cannot afford outlook at the moment? Thanks

My first email was through Google, but it was not @gmail.com because I bought a domain and paid monthly for email. For a paid Google email, I spent $6 per month. Then, I bought a M365 subscription for $5 per month, which gave me a business email (and Outlook, as well as Word, Excel, PowerPower, and OneDrive). After I got the M365 subscription, I terminated my Google email. If you want to check it out, here is a link to the Microsoft plans: www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/business/compare-all-microsoft-365-business-products

Curious, is it common for tax lawyers to have paralegals?

Hello. This is something I need! In terms of the training modules for the legal office technology certificate, it doesn't include Microsoft 365. It does offer Outlook and Word 2019, are those similar?

Hi Misty, great interview. Love the energy. Brand new here. Researching paralegal programs currently. Have hardware question first - Been Apple person for 15 years, would I be swimming against the current for all this training if I remained with Apple? With Microsoft and eDiscovery growing, it really seems smart to move back to a Windows based PC world. The main reason for going Apple years ago is still the main reason I stay is Apple's reputation for resisting bugs and hacks. Thanks.
