When is the next update in Helldivers 2? It could come in the next 48 hours with some huge balance changes happening. But I also would like to give my thoughts on the new Airburst Rocket Launcher. It is far from the best support weapon after patch in #helldivers2

At 3 min. You show that the AA RPG can easily kill chargers. This is due to a bug which allows insta kills on chargers as they are running and not because the new weapon is good at killing them. Just as an FYI :)

@@thiccfila haha yea from personal experience I guess it actually DOES have an arming distance except its not on the main rocket its on the clusters which is why some of them tend to bounce yoru way from almost 60m away =)

One thing that’s irked me about this whole situation is that these stratagems were described in-game as experimental and prototypical, they’re going to have problems because you’re using a janky WIP version of the gun before it’s greenlit for release - Secondly, the community was given the option to unlock the Airburst OR the Anti-Tank Mines - Light Aerial clear or Heavy Grounded Clear - The Community bellyaching about how bad it is right now when it was Their Choice to hard focus the Objective to unlock it when we had a different option there is a little bit silly. I haven’t heard anybody complain about ATM’s yet, maybe the community should’ve taken a step and thought about their choice between the more generic and reliable stratagem or the flashy and inconsistent stratagem before they jumped on a bandwagon.

I'd love it if it threw the bombs in a forward cone. Another idea, hold the button when you fire, release to detonate.

Just like how the airburst stratagem fires it's shrapnel in a cone towards the ground from the destroyer. Airburst stratagem, Airburst launcher I wonder why didn't the devs think to make the Airburst- launcher like that.

it should, it's called momentum along with some minimum distance it would make air-burst rocket far safer to use (at least for the shooter)

I agree. I too have had some "compressed" patch cycles, and it seems like having a hard "locked in" time period for QA to really get in there and dig the bugs out between builds solves this issue.

The weirdest part of this game is all these "announcements" that would never see the light of day if it weren't for the community spreading them through posts and videos because they're in the limited discord server most of the time. For how lore-forwards the devs seem to be, we should be getting so many cheeky and sarcastic announcements in game about these changes... It's also telling that they are taking so long to fix stuff, they screwed themselves with the "guaranteed monthly warbond" IMO.

I don't understand why everyone thought you could take out heavy armor when it's just a smaller cluster bomb when you can't take out heavy armor with the eagle cluster bomb

i didnt expect to, the last clip was seeing if i could kill the bile titan after cracking the back armor, i showed that in my last two uploads with other weapons

i think from a gameplay perspective and the drawbacks this weapon has it should be able to, otherwise we are being given a weapon that wont be used? meaningful progression is important for games like this that are live service.

It can. When getting lucky and hitting weakspots. I've killed a few hulks by hitting that back vent with cluster explosions. It just isn't consitent enough to be worth pursuing. Chargers though die on the regular.

I've done some testing and compiled a list of things that cause the air-burst launcher to detonate: - Ammo boxes - Ballistic shield - Circular air-conditioner unit?? with 4 hoses on it - Drop pods - Enemies (duh) - Extraction beacon - Explosive canisters - Forklifts - Grenade crates - Guard dog (liberator and Raise The Flag drone) - Hellbombs - HMG emplacements (bot or player) - Mines (bot or player) - Pelican 1 - Radar station (secondary objective) satellite dishes - Resupply boxes - Samples - Sentries - Stim crates - Team mates (lol) - Terminals - Tires Things that don't cause detonation: - Buildings - Dead bodies - Dropped equipment* (exceptions above) - Guard dog rover - Illegal broadcast towers (Why not?) - Light fixtures - Rocks - Smoke mushrooms - The gold beacon containers - The holes in the ground that blow up - Trees - Weapons at POIs - Wrecked pelicans Hope this helps. Though all this could change in 1-3 days. lol

Seems like a pretty bad investment to take a strat slot *and* backpack slot just to clear distant chaff that could've been avoided or killed with a primary, arc thrower, or Eagle 1. That's before even considering how dangerous it is to yourself and the team and how long it takes to reload.

I think this launcher should be “remote controlled”. As long as you hold the shoot button, the missile will travel and once released it would explode. This still would require skill to use and get accustomed to proyectile speed and spread, to know when to exactly detonate

A real life gun nerd would know that proximity fuses have time delays to prevent eliminating yourself when using it... I'm glad that they are self proclaimed enthusiasts, but its a bold claim to make when you overlook some of the most basic things. Like for instance, burst fire weapons do not work like real burst fire weapons in this game. Irl, burst fire means pull the trigger once, shoot x number of bullets. Consistently. Every time. The guns in this game set to burst work just like regular full auto, but with a burst LIMITER. That means you can shoot anywhere between 1-x shots (usually 3) based on how long you hold the trigger. It just makes burst fire feel very awkward. You basically just run it like a regular full auto, but spam clicking instead of holding down the trigger. I should be consistently getting off 3 shots with each trigger pull, not having to spam click randomly to override the awkward burst limiter.

The thing about the Airburst Launcher is, the real life RPG-7 which it is based off of has a Minimum Detonation Distance, so that this specific thing doesn't happen.

The weapon testing planet is a fantastic idea. I would LOVE to be a part of that process and I'm very sure my friends would very actively want to help iron out the bugs. It would also give the writers a new opportunity to reveal some lore and details into how super earth actually tests and researches weapons with live helldivers - which i think fits perfectly into the connon fodder philosophy super earth is parodying. It would be awesome and in that context, experiencing the bugs would actually be hilarious!!

you lost the fight the moment people had to go past chorta bay to get to it, the two planets should have been unlocked from the same supply line chain so that a choice could actually have been made

The problem is that the mines were bad too, as the other mines, that's why almost no one uses them, specially this ones called "anti tank" but then activates with small enemies and create a chain reaction making it useless.

They need to nerf the railgun so you need a fully charged shot to kill a scavenger. Because the Railgun provides such "brainless" gameplay. (sarcasm)

I think it'd be great if they took a breather for a month and just crushed every bug they had instead of doing a battle pass. Or if they found a way to release a fat battlepass that was roughly double the size, something to chew on while they put in work. Spinx definitely gave the impression it's a rough balancing act to do both at the same time and the deadline they HAVE to meet is the battlepass. I hope if they onboard a few more devs they can respond more appropriately to these not game breaking but quite annoying bugs while still putting out the new content that is demanded of them by the studio heads.

It'd be great if they could focus on the bugs, but being real - it's not even an option. New content is what maintains player counts/engagement and keeps people having fun with the game. It's also where they get any income now to fund development (sales of the game have slowed down obviously since everyone has it now; and nobody is buying armor in the superstore. Warbonds are the only real super credit sink.)

Spitz says the QA only tests in a dozen missions, but virtually all the issues we're all familiar with are apparent after running a single mission with the weapon/stratagem/module.

yeah, the idea that "less stagger = less sniper" was just... imbecile level logic. How about increase spread to reduce long range accuracy? Reduced handling turn speed? Reduced projectile velocity? All things that would make it harder to land long range "sniper" shots without hurting the performance as a hard hitting shotgun.

@@ginn1902 slugger became almost useless/redundant and they replaced it with dominator. So now they might nerf dominator and something else will take it's spot. Cycle might repeat again and again

@@punish01 honestly, they should BUFF slugger dmg because it has lower fire rate, i still choose dominator, but sometimes i ll prefer to shoot slower a bit then come back to slugger. But with the crowd in difficult 8 and 9, i think dominator is still the best

11:13 I made AAA video games and also games at small studios for over a decade. The core of this is true, but this is still basically BS in context. Yes, more players find more issues. Yep. But there’s no way no one knew fire was broken, or arc weapons were crashing the game or …… on and on this could go. Their QA team knew the eruptor was over powered before it launched. Their QA team knew explosions were knocking people in the wrong direction …. Most of the issues would be stuff the team already knows about. They KNEW that airburst was garbage before they released it. If it isn’t ready for production … don’t ship push it to production. It’s so simple. They’re burning through community goodwill. If I’m honest I don’t understand why Diablo 4 got so much hate for WAY fewer problems and people are overlooking so many issues with this game (like an inability to play for a couple hours without multiple crashes …. For months).

The core issue right now seems that they are seriously understaffed. They trapped themselves in a corner with a Live Service model and the promise of new monthly DLCs (Warbonds), got caught by surprise by the immense success of their game and now have to swallow in more than they can chew, as they have to fix bugs, polish the content, balance, QA-test, design new assets, code them and manage the galactic narrative all at the same time, with just so many people at hand to work on all of it. This is a brewing recipe for disaster and they should probably consider giving themselves some breathing room by either hiring more staff, or rolling back on the monthly warbond schedule to release one every 2 or even 3 months. None of those are easy decisions and both require a hefty investment in time and money, but this would ultimately allow for better quality content, which is what most players ask for instead of loads of poor and/or bugged one. Plus, since Major Orders are now also able to drip-feed us new stuff (stratagems, weapons and whatnot), it's not like we would miss on our monthly dose of DLC to play with something new. I really hope Helldivers won't follow the sorry path taken by so many Live Service games before it (like Elite Dangerous for instance), which ended up piling up flawed mechanics and bugs without taking the time to fix and balance what needed to be, and ended up crumbling upon themselves with player numbers dwindling and being called out for incompetence. So far Arrowhead has done a great job at damage mitigation, now they have to do something to catch up with their success and give themselves the means to deal with it. This is all the more important since I seem to have read somewhere that the Arrowhead team is fairly young and is lacking experience in the balancing department, which puts them at a further disadvantage in an already tough spot. Hence the rising importance to take steps to avoid both dev crunch (preserving their health and sanity) and community uproar.

Pressing x to doubt on spitz claiming most of the people at AH are ex mil or firearm nerds considering he doesn't know how to spell fuze. A fuse is a pyrotechnic device that is lit and burns down at a set rate. a fuze is a mechanical or electronic device designed to detonate explosive shells, mines, rockets, grenades and so on. Additionally all modern rockets will have *an arming distance* where they are inert for the first 10 or so metres before the warhead is live. They also messed up the 40mm launcher nades, which if they impact something before they arm they are completely inert. They don't have a time fuze, but a fuze based off of the rotation of the projectile. Edit: Spitz also lies through his teeth "No nerfs, just mag quantity changes." Dominator = Nerfed Eruptor = Nerfed Quasar = Nerfed That's 3 and I'm probably missing a couple.

@@Bopiz787 Yep. I'd bring up the breaker incendiary too with that weird canister on its side. I guess that can fly under rule of cool and wanting to make something visually different other than a re-texture. There's some other stuff that I'm probably forgetting too, like weirdly placed charging handles. Though, in fairness, HD2 is the first time I've seen crew served equipment in something that isn't a milsim. Pity they didn't do that with the HMG.

Instead he outright lied about the changes considering he said "No nerfs just mag quantity changes" Eruptor got a nerf Dominator got a nerf Quasar got a nerf More stuff got nerfed. He shouldn't be a community manager if he can't manage to interface with the community honestly.

Sameee. I was fortunate enough to use pre-nerf Breaker for a bit, but the nerf wasn't nearly as brutal compared to the railgun nerf

not forcing the assisted reloader to give up their backpack slot is also one of the things im hoping they'd allow... just keep the ammo pack on the person wielding the gun, this way anybody on the team can reload for them and they still can do solo reloads.

When I used it, the airburst seemed to work fine except for the inconsistent damage. Sometimes I'd kill swarths of patrolling units and sometimes they'd just walk through it perfectly fine. I can see where this thing is far better than the grenade launcher as it should clear out anything that can pull off a summon, an early engagement weapon which is where the grenade laucher can struggle if you dont want to completely saturate an area which often is a waste of ammo

I also feel like the bugs are starting to stack up to the point that it's worth delaying content to fix them. Every patch introduces some new crash, destabilizes a legacy feature, and launches with mostly underwhelming (performing) content. I also think, while none of their nerfs (besides railgun's) have had much of an impact, for that reason they may as well undo the majority of them, and focus on the much more impactful buffs they've been issuing. Again, other than railgun, i don't think a single nerf has actually disrupted the "meta". The shakeups have come from new additions, and buffs to existing weapons. The nerfs have just been minor annoyances, by and large, and could easily be reverted.

I'm getting a whole fucking lot of crashes on bot planets, not so much on bugs, i can do like 4-5 missions on bugs and no big deal, bots have to crash at least once every 1-3 games.

Haven't used the mech since they removed rocket accuracy and the ability to aim down. If I cant use it to shoot enemies that are far away but in a bug nest or just LOWER, its not worth bringing.

I feel like a good way to make the airburst rocket launcher better would be to give it the option of having a manual detonation mode of some kind instead of exclusively the prox fuse. that way you can more reliably use it at mid range without it brushing up against a bush and turning your whole squad to a fine red mist but making it require a manual aspect in return.

So I’m not crazy? Because I was firing it within the shield relay, and getting so confused why it would blow up in my face and kill everyone inside. Happened twice and I felt so horrible and dropped the RPG because I didn’t want to keep team killing with it. I thought I was doing something wrong, but it was probably sensing the relay and blowing up inside the shield?

A test server would be awesome. Not sure I agree fully with your point about "not being for balance" because currently it feels like 60-75% of the new weapons are worthless, underperforming wastes of medals when we get them. It'd be nice if they could launch in a worthwhile state, even if it's a secondary concern after bugs.

The buggest problem i gound with the airburst launcher while testing it with a friend is that it launches all the clusters backwards, towards you. You can even see it do so in the preview video in the stretegem purchase menu. In addition to that the damage and the cluster explosion seem very disconnected and the damage on them is just wild. I never not run explosion resistant armour against bots and the airburst was killing me pretty consistently with a signly cluster seemingly exploding a few meters away from me.

Holding the trigger down sets the timer or yards. Same type of meter like the one found on the rail gun.

Still confounded how we have a community manager saying "nah, it's fine, working as intended." Pretty much next day, patch says airburst no longer detonates in proximity to stratagems and emplacements. So was it actually intended albeit wrong and dumb? Or was this guy gaslighting? Now I hear something about how that plasma launcher is blowing up inside a player's bubble shield and that it is a nerf to shields. I know a game bug when I see one!

Those few times I used the Airburst rocket launcher, reliability was a major problem. I can second your observations about devastators. It did next to nothing to them in my experience. I've also had trash mobs survive regularly. In one instance, I fired it directly between two stationary normal bots standing outside an objective. Both survived unscathed.

Every time I fire it, I run off away from the direction I shot it in as soon as the rocket lets fly and sometimes I have the shots coming back nipping at my heels, but I have taken less explosions to the face since I started doing that.... or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

One of the coolest things about guns in this game is the hold reload settings. Imagine if the ABRL had a 25m 50m and 75m arming distance setting.

I gotta say, I took the Airburst Rocket Launcher last night and it was pretty fun. Still working on learning the drop for longer range shots, but it definitely sill was something I could use without fear of TKing everyone around me. Obviously, the way it was initially released is something they really need to take care of in the future, but I'm glad they at least appeared to patch it quickly, and that it seems they've finally fixed the explosion sucking everyone in.

when the model for this weapon was leaked I hoped it would be a super heavy armor piercing rocket launcher. The cluster bomb warhead is just disappointing.

That is another odd thing I noticed, I know the devs probably design this with a realistic precedent. But by "visual language" the launcher looks so sleek and precise, the missile seems to have a piercing head instead of a - I dunno - bulbous cone. I wouldn't be able to tell at a glance that it's a crowd control weapon.

Imagine if they gave it a programmable warhead (something like 50-100-150). Could have either the proxy fuse or range-based, so its still capable of anti air but less capable of mass friendly fire

0:47 that’s infuriating. If it isn’t ready to release …. Don’t release it. If you KNOW it needs fixes to be useful you’re disrespecting the players by shoveling broken crap into the game. They’re not good devs. It’s a fantastic game, but they’re not very good. They’re willfully getting into a state where they create tech debt because they’re not able to fix things as quickly as they’re breaking stuff. It shouldn’t have taken 2.5 months after launch to make the game stable. It’s crazy how many separate crashes have been fixed, and that they thought it was ready for release 3 months ago. They never should have ever been doing Friday patches (like the early Friday patch that broke the game on a busy weekend and they had to bring people in to work over a weekend to roll back the patch … embarrassing as hell … then redo the patch with fixes). Such a rookie mistake. It’s so embarrassing that they introduced the arc stats fix that …. Crashed the game for everyone if you used those weapons … and then just left that in the game for 2 weeks … instead of just not including the stats update until it was ready. Such a rookie mistake. Fire shouldn’t have needed 4 separate buffs … and it still doesn’t work right 3 months later. Damage over time from gas seems to not work right yet either. Stun grenade obviously never should have worked on bile titans. Ems sentry didn’t. Orbital ems didn’t. No one likes a nerf. Don’t introduce an obviously broken thing and then make it weaker. The airburst launcher is trash. It’s crazy that the eruptor is overpowered like crazy …. Which they knew … and they didn’t have you unlock the crossbow first. At least give people a few games with the crossbow before the eruptor. Swapping those is meaningless for their team but actually would have made the crossbow feel better. Rookie mistake. And on and on this could go …. When you’re on the social screen … because you want to play with people … why can’t you see an invitation to play? That should have been fixed before launch. The stats screen at the end of levels is garbage. Some of it still doesn’t work, and they don’t give you good stats …. Who is activating terminals, it holes, picking up samples or medals, who is taking out all the bile titans vs who is only padding their kill count with scavengers, who is calling in resupply, who is picking up resupply, how many kills with each stratagem? There are too many screen where people without mics are entirely unable to contribute (where to drop, stratagem planning ….) The game is fun. It’s just made so badly! And these are high level conceptual problems they’re failing with here.

On one hand, it's super commendable that basically since February Arrowhead has been able to consistently both release new content and push out fixes basically every week or so. Moreso considering how relatively small they are as a studio compared to basically every one of their contemporaries that are doing Live Service. And even moreso considering the game itself is running on an engine that got discontinued halfway through making Helldivers 2 and they had to basically make their own tools and service the engine itself. On the other, I actually wouldn't mind if they slowed themselves down so that while the patches and updates don't happen as often anymore, they end up release in far more stable state and at the very least more stuff works as intended or gets the necessary second looks before getting pushed out or even take advantage of the live service model to test out stuff and even say in-game "Hey Super Earth is testing stuff, it has issues but it works"

Keep in mind the entire thing is also a role-playing experience, having recently liberated prototypes of an air-burst weapon like that, kinda makes sense, as it will also be getting improved, I know I'm just kind of making excuses, but if we look from a Role-playing POV instead of a player to game or "meta" POV, it can make alot more sense, this by no means excuses the bugs, but it doesn't shade on arrowhead either, we have tons of weapons at our disposal, complaining about the broken ones when we have plenty of just fine ones seems like a silly thing

Explosions pulling you forward seems to be a general issue.It happens to me all the time when using the auto cannon on a hulk, trying to get that last shot in at the eye at the edge of the auto-cannon's splash range. I want to say it was an issue even before the warbond dropped, but can't say so with any degree of certainty.

Its a great game. The issues are really showing though, and theres a lot of troubling stuff you've put your finger on here. I've got some suggestions for AH below. First, I don't care what they think is balanced. I care what is fun. Weapons that break immersion because they behave in counterintuitive ways, or don't perform the way they need to to accomplish even the niche the devs assigned them, aren't fun. These devs are demonstrating far too much ego in discord, and the CM team, along with the CEO need to get ahold of their behavior, as it isn't going in a good direction. Far too often they speak from ignorance, make statements not born out by reality, and demonstrate a lack of understanding of how their own game is played, showing preference instead for how they think it SHOULD be played. A dynamic of struggle for control of the reins of this thing called Helldivers 2 is developing, and the studio can never win. If they don't make the game fun, we won't play it. Its no more complicated than that. They don't get to control what we think is fun. We barely control that ourselves, being a disorganized social network of increasingly rowdy nerds with too much time and money for our own good apparently. Suggestion 1: No more dev commentary anywhere. Period. If the CM's can't step up and begin to manage community interaction because they are too distracted by their political hobby horses, fire them and hire new ones. Suggestion 2: Give the CMs better more timely information and the time to organize public interactions on all forums including Discord so that a COHERENT, and COHESIVE, professionally written interaction can be crafted between us and the Dev team which is cogent, and comprehensive of their intended message. Look at these patch notes today.... as a business professional of many years they are unacceptable by any standard. Bullet points missing or misplaced, message unclear and not in conformity with the testable reality in the game. Why does light gunner armor have reduced headshot damage? According to the patch notes it shouldn't. Is this correct? Incorrect? Why is reduced fire damage listed under guard dog? What changes weren't listed because nobody took the time to write everything down this time? In what world is that acceptable? Professional correspondence is not what we have here and miscommunication is half the problem here because it ends in unmet expectations. Managed expectations are the key to public relations. This is being lost in the mess of communication we currently have. Suggestion 3: curtail discord severely. Its toxic, counterproductive and wildly out of control, and is breeding discontent through misinformation and deliberately malicious trolling. 15 minute slow time on every channel. We don't need a company managed forum with a couple hundred thousand nerds running free and enabled to their worst excesses of toxic autism. Suggestion 4: Devs play the game with the community for enough hours regularly to see how its ACTUALLY played, and get over their vacuum unrealistic idea of how they think it SHOULD. Devs play anonymously. You are testing, dont change the experience by letting us know we are being observed. Learn to play the game, get humble, then get busy making new stuff within whatever framework of constraints and limited resources you have. Suggestion 5: Test all content in praxis before release. You can't tell me that Plasma Punisher was tested, when it blows up in our own shield, and went live that way. You can't tell me nobody noticed the terrain boxes being visible on the new defense mission. You can't tell me nobody noticed the wrong armor perk on the warbond armor. That the ammunition module didn't actually work. That the mech blows itself up. You can't tell me all of these things were tested, yet went live (and we all know there's way more than this) and expect us to think your testing process is serious at all. If you want us to test stuff, say so, and make it part of the lore. Stop pretending this isn't what it is, you exploiting the situation to use us and our time as paid development for your benefit. We all know the game, don't insult us by pretending its not what it is. Most of us test stuff willingly, so stop making it cheap and dirty by acting like its not what you need. Clearly it is, cause we catch stuff you don't regularly, and its fine, we get it, you all are overwhelmed and undermanned. You've said so. Own it and be open about your expectations of us. Like Thiccfila said, break the mould and dare to meet us where we are, in your own game where we can work for you not against you. A testing planet is a great idea. This game is great. Maybe my favorite of all time. Lets make it as good as we all know it can be.

I think they should make the weapon so that you can setup the exploding deistance or press something o make it manualy explode when you want. Making it a skill based weapon would make it more fun and fix a lot of the problems. Also make so that it can't eplode too close maybe? In the old planetside there was a launched that would drop cluster bombs when it triggered, but you had to manually se the distance in a similar way you do pings with Q

Ah i see, it's not bugged it's just detecting everything but the player as part of its proximity, tesla tower shoots disturbed sambles and also dead bodies. I guess you could see this as a bug, depending on how it's coded it can be an easy fix or a nightmare, as if it's like a black list of not to detonate with players add more to not detonate when near or make it a white list of stuff to detonate when near like enemies, if it's about collision detection of everything in a certain collision group, it might be a nightmare if enemies and objects aren't in a separate collision group in which you'll have to make a new group for specifically enemies and specifically objects and make sure everything works possibly needing to change a lot of code of different weapons and bullets. Tldr: if it's using a system that is contained in the weapon, it's easy. if it's using a system connected to everything else, then it's a nightmare

It's pretty simple: as long as new content is added to the game so fast and regularly then bugs will be introduced all the time. If stability is the goal then adding new stuff needs to be slowed down and dev resources reallocated to stability.

I still can't use the AL in any useful way. Either I'm shooting at stuff too far away for me to be able to properly target smaller enemies, or too close and killing my whole squad. I can't even just barrage a target off in the distance because on helldive you get patrols too regularly to just sit around reloading.

I would have preferred the anti tank mines as a more powerful alternative to existing mines. I knew airbrush meant personnel, not armor piercing. Whereas anti tank mines sounded better against armored enemies like chargers

Please don't just call these a bug and that they missed these things. If the devs thought for one second they would easily have known that making a cluster launcher that just detonates at the first enemy was going to be a team kill machine. There's also the bug with the HMG's sights being completely misaligned in their entirety but that hasn't been fixed at all. They can prioritize their crash bug fixing as much as they want but if the majority of the player base isn't getting snagged repeatedly by these crashes then they are niche issues. Nearly every new thing they release isn't even always buggy its just poorly thought out with balancing that would be simple to fix with even a moments thought into the utility of the weapons. I think the base concept of the launcher is fun and cool but even if it was working as expected and not being a teamkill machine it'd still have hardly a place in the games current state because its ammo would eternally be an issue. Let alone the 6second reload time. We have enough good rockets. Give us variant grenade launchers instead if you want things for small group clearing. This all goes without even mentioning how the entirety of the choice onw hat we unlocked next was completely rigged. The planets to supposedly unlock them were a Hot and a Cold planet. Even if everyone just played normally that hot planet would never have been touched remotely as much as the other. Making an order to liberate planets for the community to choose what strategem we get next but not immediately unlocking them? Should I really say more to that?

well i show in the video it is not just triggering on the first enemy it sees. if it triggered on enemies only, then it would be a skill issue when you team kill with it. but it triggers on stim packs on the floor like i showed. thats a bug. they mentioned the hmg sight in the discrd recently, fingers crossed its in the next patch. players were plagued by crashes since the game came out, but i havent crashed for weeks now. theyve been cooking this update coming soon and i think itll fix a lot of problems if i had to guess given its looking to be the biggest patch yet. I think the problem that seems to keep happening is adding more bugs into the game with new updates and patches. Also believe if the airburst launcher was behind the hot planet, people would have went there anyway.

@@thiccfila I believe as such too but it'd still be quite the heft pill. Just about no one likes the hot planets but even then the base issue of not having them unlocked in the first place is a bit weird. Not to mention the hot planet was in a completely different sector which easily could confuse people on how to unlock them in the first place. I just honestly hope they actually realize that fixing their old stuff might be just as helpful. The primary weapon roster is still in a completely abysmal state. I really don't need to say anything on the railgun because everyone talks about how that weapon is. Reason I didn't mention the thing with the cluster's triggering on random dust particles that offensively aggressed your own face is because that bit is at least not intended. I at least hope its not intended. Regardless my statement was more on its default functions to begin with. Rather then how its actually working. Honestly you mentioning people feeling like their the beta testers resonated a lot with me here. Though we arn't beta testers. Were ALPHA testers at this rate. Also instead of a beta test planet or something why not just give us a firing range instead? It'd be great for testing even existing weapons as a new player before accidentally murdering your entire team or discovering the thing can't harm particularly aggressive flies mid mission

Okay I see what you mean now. To be fair I think if the weapon itself consistently killed devastators it would be perfectly fine weapon to use. Given that it is somewhat effective vs hulks and tanks. It would be a bit stronger than nade launcher if it could do that. I think that if both planets were connected to 1 planet, and both planets were available after only going through 1, that would have been the best. Giving people a chance to try both. After trying the airburst, people may have turned around and flooded to the mine planet even.

@@thiccfila Yeah they likely would've. But as it was implemented. Everyone wanted to try out the new weapon so of course the first planet unlocked would get finished off real quick like. Having it unlock both absolutely would've been the play. Far as killing devastators though while that'd be awesome I actually disagree. The most dangerous enemies in Automatons is not the hulk. Its not the tank. Its not even the factory walkers. Its the small androids with flares. Just about every patrol contains them but they are often hidden behind their bigger friends. Sure you can kill the devastators in it but the moment that flare goes off? There's about to be a whole lot more and a whole lot worse. If the cluster rocket launcher actually worked how I'm pretty sure its meant to? While it wouldn't kill your devastators or your berserkers... it'd stop them from reinforcing and reinforcements is what kills your runs. At that point being able to completely wipe a patrol sans a hulk would actually be just a smidge overtuned. Oh and for everyone mentioning it as anti air. It took me three rockets to kill a gunship with it. This thing is meant for land not air. But it can still work in the air...just not great

The airburst was such a fail to me as the gun only fills an already existing role aka take out squards, take out flyers. Something the gattling and autocannon already does among others. The anti tank landmines covers a much less filled role.

Knowing with how game development and coding works, each patch might be spaghetti code to get things to be fixed. Like there's gonna be a Railgun buff, but it might end up crashing your game on an over charge. I wish they can hire people and train them to be up to speed with their needs, but that might be hard

It feels like it isnt bugged and is technically working as intended, just TOO well. It probably tracks proximity to non-player entities, which would include things besides enemies or objectives; similar to how the spear will lock on to armored vehicles, which im sure the strider is coded as one even tho most players wouldnt call it that. Nevertheless, something not working as expected isnt an excuse to be abusive online to people. The community needs to do better.

10:00 I think most companies are well aware that they don't need to have ridiculous prices in order to make a profit. They charge so much because people keep buying it regardless, and they're greedy. That's why Helldivers 2 is simply awesome despite all the bugs and questionable decisions. It's fun, the live service is pretty good and the monetization isn't incredibly greedy and horrible.

It always boggles my mind how we deal with heavies in most missions, so mines that only trigger on tanks would be useful. But people want a teamkill rocket launcher instead because they don't know how to deal with the 2 flying mobs in the entire game.

its not an anti air weapon, its an airburst projectile. however i dont think anyone expected the most bugged weapon to be added when they chose it. i think people will just always pick a new support weapon over emplacements or even turrets.

I'm not sure it only triggers on heavies. I'd hope that's how it works but the leaks I saw seemed to let anything detonate it.

It's a skill requirement type of weapon 3 rules 1 no team members near target 2 only use in open space it can and will explode if in proximity of literally anything close to your aiming path 3 stay high and aim above mobs it will explode as soon as it gets close to the top of them Never aim at a enemy aim above them

@@thiccfila That might be a good point. I don't know why I came up with the idea that it's an AA weapon and just rolled with it. A pocket cluster bomb is pretty nice, but yeah the proximity detonation needs some major changing imo...

Honestly I kinda like being the beta tester. And would fit lore wise by saying they are sabotage or something. The randomness keeps the game from being a total sweat festival. I had a memorial moment today with randoms where the air burst team wiped us after basically a movie style fight where everyone is covering for each other and great teamwork with the ping system for tandem rockets.

The airburst is basically a cluster bomb in the form of a rocket launcher. I think the rocket itself has heavy armor pen I am not sure Ive killed some chargers in a weird way. On paper it doesnt sound too bad but when we look at other support weapons that does the same job suddenly the Airburst aint that interesting...And can potentially kill you and your team mate

I'm personally the most mad about the crossplay issue, I bought the game to play with a friend on PS5 and we can only reliably play together when someone who doesn't have the crossplay bug can host the lobby. We were trying to get into the same missions at the war table but the missions shown are so out of date it was difficult to actually get into a game at all when having to wait for the other player to see it on the map let alone one with two slots. I'd be more understanding if they didn't implement the most cursed friend code/friends list system I've ever seen. I shouldn't need to add my PSN friends to my Helldivers friends list when I had to link my Playstation account that we're already friends on.

The devs don't have a vision for balance. If they did, weapons would release balanced. They only have knee-jerk reactions for balance based on weapon/support pick-rate. It's pretty obvious they balance via spreadsheet data, not by actual player experience. The fact that the Railgun was even nerfed in the first place is proof of that (when in reality buffing the RR and EATs would have sufficed to deal with heavy armor spawn rate complaints). After all, what happened in the latest patch? They had to rebuff the Railgun because it had been over-nerfed. They also didn't need to nerf the explosive crossbow. That weapon was already a niche pick, and now it's completely gutted for AOE while still retaining the ability to one-hit-kill yourself if you're not wearing anti-explosive armor. Yet it somehow barely damages Bile Spewers and often takes 4-5 shots to kill a single Spewer, which is dumb because the Eruptor that does less damage only takes 1-2 shots to do the same. Also, the latest patch completely tanked my performance. I was at a buttery smooth 70-80 FPS on maxed settings, now I'm at a stuttering 30-40 mess that dips below 30 during missions. I have a i7-5820k, 32GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 2080 reference, Samsung EVO SSD. I admit I don't have a super-advanced rig like some people, but it's certainly not a potato. Absolutely unacceptable.
