This is the first time I've seen someone do this fight without spamming Balloon or Firaga burst excellent work.

I'm glad to hear that.

Now this is what I like to see when it comes to DDD, no cheese strats by spamming Balloon magic Just a simple and fair fight that has exceeded perfection

This is a keyblade wielder. No ballons, real battle!

I don't even use any cheese when I fight him, even then you played practically perfect. Seemed like you knew exactly when they would stagger.
@reddodeadoАй бұрын
Julius' Reaction Endurance is 18, Sliding Sidewinder and Counter Rush do 16 RV if all hits connect Two basic attacks (or practically one command) after that and he'll usually stagger every time!

Hey, it can be as fun as it looks! Well, I don't know about console, but it's definitely an amazing game on the 3DS.
@ng66355 ай бұрын
@@Gelert_AT I have it on my 3ds and it was my first KH game. Compared to the others it really isn't that fun. Even Re:Coded; the DS game that also uses command deck, plays better than Dream Drop Distance which is really sad.

@@ng6635 Well, different experiences I guess. It's not the first time that I've heard someone not enjoy DDD as much, and in fact people can say WAY worse things about that game. But I'm one of those people in the minority that really enjoyed it for what it was. ...granted, I haven't played many other KH games, but I think the game is good on its own regardless of comparisons. But hey, tastes are as varied as colors, as they say.

@@Gelert_AT Main reason I have any joy playing Dream Drop is because of nostalgia. After doing a Critical Mode run all of the flaws of the game really just glare. Endlags are WAYYY too long(DDD is made by the same people that made BBS and KH3 so thats a given), damage balancing is god awful, poorly designed boss arenas and attacks etc.

You made the hardest boss in the game while simultaneously making this game look like KH3. 😂

Thank you for showing a compelling fight without the use of the boring as all types of hell OP balloon magic. Gigachad moves 👌

Great fightCan you explain a bit how do you get him staggered? Is it specific commands?In my attempts on 3ds version he seemed to ignore most of things.

Enemies in this game have an invisible parameter called reaction durability value, and unless this value reaches 0, the enemy will not be knocked back.Julius' reaction durability value is 18, which means that if you hit him with "Attack" 18 times, he will be knocked back. The reaction value indicates how much the reaction durability value decreases when you hit an enemy with an attack, and this value is set for each command. To give some examples, the reaction value of "Attack" is 1, and the counter command (such as Revenge Rush) is 4. Since Revenge Rush hits Julius four times, if you hit "Attack" twice after this, the reaction durability will be exactly 0, and Julius will be knocked back (0:06). As for the difference with the 3DS version, the reaction value of the vertical swing of "Attack" is set to 0 in the 3DS version, so the above combo leaves only 1 reaction durability, and Julius will not be knocked back. Also, in the 3DS version, Revenge Rush does not often hit Julius four times, and it usually hits three times. Note that if an enemy goes unattacked for 10 seconds, their reaction endurance will be fully restored. This is likely why Julius was not knocked back at 1:45. Also, during DM (Lightning Strike), only certain attacks, such as the downward swing of Ars Arcanum (reaction value: 2), will reduce reaction endurance.

usagi3142 Thanks, legend. I plan to poke no damage runs for most or entire series so info will be very useful. Is there any resource which has more detail on this? (KH2 has a separate website which has tables of all revenge values in game)
@usagi31422 ай бұрын
@ There is a detailed explanation in the KHDDD Ultimania about the reaction endurance and reaction value tables and how enemies flinch. Some things have been changed in the PS4 version, so I'll make a table of various data and post it on the my community or something.

usagi3142 Thanks again and curious. Most of Ultimanias werent translated to english so it explains why I never heard of this system. (and general disliking towards DDD's gameplay in community doesnt really help)
